World Su***de Prevention Day 2026 đź’›
Today, we’re joining people across Ireland and around the world to raise awareness and encourage more open conversations about su***de and mental health.
New research commissioned by Pieta House found that 48% of people in Ireland have worried that someone close to them may be at risk of su***de, while 59% say fear of saying the wrong thing would make them hesitate before starting a conversation.
Sometimes, we care deeply but don’t know what to say. The important thing is that you don’t need to have all the answers. Asking, listening and being there can make a difference.
If you’re worried about someone, or if you’re struggling yourself, support is available.
