Such a simple sentence.

And yet, the first time I really heard it, truly let it land, something shifted in me.

How many of us are living our lives according to thoughts we've never once questioned?

Thoughts that were handed to us in childhood, absorbed from the world around us, or born out of moments of pain that we've long since carried forward as truth.

I'm not good enough.

I don't deserve more than this.

That's just the way I am.

But here's what Louise knew and what I've witnessed over and over again in the thousands of people I've had the privilege of working with those thoughts are not facts.

They are simply patterns. And patterns can be gently, lovingly unwound.

You are not your thoughts. You are the one who notices them.

That awareness, that tiny, powerful pause between a thought and your belief in it, is where your healing lives.

If there's a thought today that's been keeping you small, I invite you to hold it lightly and ask yourself: Is this really true? Or is this simply a story I've been telling myself?
