Photograph taken c1875 - Clear view of Church without Tivoli Terrace, Tivoli Hotel or the Irish Arms. The Church was still under construction with scaffolding on the bell tower. The National school was a two storey building at that stage.

A major boost in preserving our local heritage. Well done Joe, fantastic news!

I welcome the allocation today of funding for restoration works to
Maiville House €9,000 and
Toovahera Church €5,000 towards necessary.repairs.
Well done to Clare County Council officials ( c €100k secured for County Clare ) , Lisdoonvarna Failte , Fr Conor , Paul Conway and all who helped on the way.

Clearly much more work will need to be done to restore and protect both really precious parts of our heritage in the area and not to be sending a groundhog day mantra , it will require genuine collaboration across all groups, clubs and the community of the region to succeed.
