September always feels like a new beginning……children everywhere getting ready for a new school year.
But I’ve always believed that learning shouldn’t stop when we leave school.
When I left school in Dublin in the 1980s, jobs were scarce and further education simply wasn’t an option for many of us.
I left with a very ordinary Leaving Certificate — but thanks to the foresight of my school, I also left with something incredibly valuable:
A practical skill.
I had learned secretarial and typing skills, and looking back now, I can see just how much that opportunity shaped my life.
That skill made me employable.
It gave me confidence.
It gave me independence.
And most importantly, it gave me choices.
More than 30 years later, I still believe:
✨ When you learn a skill, you invest in yourself.
Skills create confidence.
Skills create opportunities.
Skills can create businesses.
And skills can create freedom.
That belief is at the very heart of MF Wellness School of Reflexology & Holistic Therapies.
I’ve watched students arrive wondering if they’re too old, not academic enough or if they’ve simply left it too late.
And then I’ve watched them flourish. ❤️
They learn reflexology, but they also discover confidence, friendships, purpose and possibilities they may never have imagined for themselves.
