Janni Bars is 8 today. 🥹❤️

And I think more this year than any other year, I’m looking at this little business and thinking… how on earth is this still a thing?! Never mind how far it has come.

Eight years ago, Janni Bars was supposed to be something small on the side. I was at a really difficult point in my life, and I needed to create a little extra income – but probably even more than that, I needed the hope of a different future.

I could never have imagined that eight years later, this would be it.

My job. My business. And something that has completely changed my life. It’s giving me a purpose in reducing plastic waste, and that gets me out of bed everyday.

Even in the last 12 months we’ve launched completely new packaging (which might just look like a box, but nearly finished me off 😂), started the County Soaps – my slightly mad pet project that I absolutely love – and somehow ended up on national television with RTÉ Nationwide.

And we’re still growing.

At a time when being a small business is really, really hard, that means more to me than I can explain.

Because Janni Bars only exists because people keep choosing it.

You come back. You tell your friends. You give the bars as presents. You recommend them. You send me messages. You place another order.

And yes, I suppose I have to admit that maybe the bars are actually bloody good too. 😂

But without all of you, they’re just bars sitting on shelves in my workshop.

Eight years ago I hoped this little idea might help me build a different future.

It did.

And I will never stop being grateful for that.

The hot weather made me do a thing… and I brought back Salt Soap.

Made with Himalayan pink salt and rose clay, with a fresh, calming blend of lemon & lavender essential oils.

Salt soaps are a little different to your everyday bar — beautifully hard, long-lasting, with a creamy lather and that lovely clean, fresh feeling on the skin.

I don’t make these very often, and this batch is strictly limited edition.
