💜This is your Sunday Challenge;

Do you do stuff that you really don’t want to?

Stuff you actually don’t HAVE to do but FEEL you have to do?

Stuff you think you should do, because someone you sought advice from said so… or maybe you read something from someone you respect…

And maybe the advice is really good and well meant, but after giving it a go for a while, it just doesn’t feel right.

I invite you on this Sunday Challenge, to be aware this week of the things that you are doing, things that maybe you don’t have to do, things that don’t feel right…

Ask yourself if they are actually necessary or if they are things that you feel pressured to do.

Reflect on putting some of these things down.
Spend some time imagining a future where you don’t do this thing, and tune into how that feels.

If it feels good and you are still honouring your responsibilities, then perhaps it’s time to put it down.

In a world where everyone has advice on everything, how does this ‘one-size-fits-all’ serve you, us as individuals?

Surely, we are all unique enough to have a path in life where the one advice does not suit?

So be mindful where you seek advice.

Pick and choose what ‘fits’ and what doesn’t, you decide!

Carve your own path.

If you would like someone to listen to you as an individual, and offer advice as well as interpret what your unique body's needs, give me a call for an appointment.
Kinesiology is a client led, non-invasive holistic therapy which treats you as the unique individual which you are.

This is your Sunday Challenge;

This week I wrote all about claiming back your time in a world where everyone seems to be busy beyond their ability to cope, or at least beyond their limit to be happy with how their time is spent.

It’s so easy to get stuck in a rat-race, the busyness creeps up on you and before you realise it, you feel like you do not even have room to come up for air, let alone take the time out to step back and make changes - even if they are for the better.

However, this is exactly what you need to do!

I invite you today, to put one of my tips (feature in my blog from this week, link here; https://sarahheffernankinesiology.com/blog ) into practice;

Pick 3 tasks that need doing this week and set a time limit on how long they should take you, be realistic but firm. For example, cleaning the bathroom, would you get it done in 30 minutes?

When you do these tasks, in their time limit, see how much better that feels, (as opposed to an open-ended situation), it’s contained in a time frame, it starts and finishes, and you have oversight!

This too is self-care!

Good luck and enjoy!

This is so true!

Every task will grow into any amount of time you give it. Equally, a lot of tasks will be done in a given set amount of limited time made available.

So if you want more time to go for a walk, to meditate, go for a coffee, journal, read... whatever... you must carve it out of your day.

Have a look at my blog from Thursday where I share tips on how to claim back your time, tried and tested tips over years!

Do you know when you went from normal busy to crazy busy?

Like, can you remember what happened or did it just creep up on you?

I could say it was when we had kids, but truthfully the mad busy time really started a few years after that, I don’t know what happened, it was like one day I got up and life was crazy!

This week’s blog is about that and I share some tried and tested simple tips that will help you claim back your time!

And I would love to hear your results if anyone is willing enough to share…

Are you always doing 2 or 3 things at the same time?

While also in the back of your head planning the 4th thing?

Do you never seem to have enough time and are forever playing catch up?

Are you up late at night, past what you actually want to be, because it’s the only time you get to sit down?

I know you think you don’t have the time to do this, but trust me, it will pay off; take time to asses and plan!

Often the chaos in your life is due to taking on too much in an unreasonable amount of time available.

For the sake of 10 minutes at night, planning the next day can make life sooo much better.

Literally write out a plan stating what time even dinner is being cooked at – it will make everything so much clearer for you and stop you getting into a spin!

💜This is your Sunday Challenge;

This week I spoke about our ability to listen to our bodies. To listen to how we are feeling deep down; are we in pain, are we tired, are we feeling that something is too much… etc.

We, as a society, have gotten into the habit of pushing ourselves to the limits more and more.

We have lost touch of tuning into our bodies and recognising what we feel.

We are all different in our needs, no size one fits all. If we do not tune in, how can we know?

So, I invite you to tune into your body; next time you are having a challenging day, take a moment and reflect what it is you need…

And then when you know, give it to yourself as best you can – you might not be able to go to bed for the day, however you might be able to take a 20-minute nap and then go to bed early that night.

And if you don’t do what you need, then why not?
Journal this answer, dive a little deeper as to what’s stopping you and you will get great awareness from this practice.

Pushing through pain and discomfort has become the norm. In fact, it’s nearly like a badge of honour, respect, a sign of being strong…

Or is it?

Is being able to know when you need support, rest or other healing not a respectful trait?

You know you cannot go through life by ploughing through everything?!

It will catch up on you eventually.

You will become sick, blow a fuse in the wrong situation, make poor decisions… the list is endless.

Tune into what you really need, you as an individual.

Do not compare yourself to others; how much they work, what activities they do outside of work, how many charities they are involved in… that’s all their stuff and at the end of the day you don’t know what’s driving them.

Imagine you are your best friend, what would you say to you?

Do you listen to your body?

Do you listen when you are in pain, in discomfort, tired, emotionally drained…

Do you give yourself what you need?

Or do you plough through?

Unfortunately, we live in a society where, not only are we expected to push through the pain and illness we might be experiencing, on some levels it is deemed respectful.

I’m not saying go home from work every time you have a sniffle, or take to the bed when you feel a twinge, however, pushing yourself too far is just not right!

Know the balance of the two.

Recognise when you have to take time out.

If this is difficult for you, reflect on why it is so.

Do you feel deserving of rest, of time to heal…

Do you feel guilty, not as strong as you think you should be…

Are you not able to hand over the reigns to somebody else, do you need to be the one to do it…

This might be an interesting little exercise to journal on. I’m sure you will discover some awareness which will then help you to make better decisions in the future.
