Nua Healthcare Services was proud to support the Mental Health Matters Poster Campaign 2026, with our CEO Noel Dunne attending a special photocall at Government Buildings alongside campaign founder Barbara Brennan and Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

Now in its third year, this inspiring national campaign uses creativity and art to encourage open conversations around mental health and wellbeing. Open to individuals, schools, workplaces, and community groups across Ireland, it invites participants to share their perspectives through powerful and personal poster designs.

By turning creativity into conversation, the campaign continues to reduce stigma, strengthen connection, and remind people that support is always available.

Following the Taoiseach’s support, the submission deadline has been extended to Sunday, 19th July, giving even more people the opportunity to get involved.

We are delighted to be part of such a meaningful initiative that promotes positive conversations about mental health across communities nationwide.

We are thrilled to share that our very own Maggie Finnegan, Head of Catering at Nua Healthcare Services - Gormanston, has been named Catering Manager of the Year at the Gold Medal Catering Awards. It’s a remarkable achievement, particularly given the strong competition from golf clubs and universities.

Maggie joined the Nua team three years ago and has since fostered a strong sense of community and teamwork through her work. Having led the entire kitchen design and set-up at the Gormanston facility, we are incredibly proud that her excellence and hard work have been recognised through this award.

Please join us in congratulating her on her fantastic achievement!

Our Diversity & Inclusion Group proudly hosted the annual Nua Pride Party on Friday, 26th June 2026—and what a fantastic day it was!

Held at the beautiful Abbey Blooms Botanical Gardens in Multyfarnham, over 100 team members and Individuals came together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and belonging across our services.

Despite a brief rain shower at the start, the sunshine quickly returned, setting the tone for an afternoon full of joy and connection. From dressing up and dancing to the DJ, to face painting and fun moments at the selfie frame—there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Guests were treated to a delicious BBQ and surrounded by colourful bunting, banners, and balloons, creating a truly vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

This event continues to grow each year, reflecting our commitment to celebrating individuality and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong.

💙 Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special!

A special milestone for Nua Healthcare last week, as we marked the handover of a new 4-bed designated centre in Co. Laois from our Building & Planning team to Operations.

This new centre represents an important step in responding to the growing need for high-quality residential supports for adults with intellectual disabilities in the region — creating a space where people can feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

A huge thank you and well done to our Building & Planning Team, Project Manager, and Construction Partners for the dedication, care and hard work that brought this service to life.

We’re really looking forward to seeing this house become a home.

We had a brilliant day at the weekend supporting Asiam.ie at their Same Chance – Walk for Autism in Belmont Demesne, Greystones.

Our Mobile Sensory and Canine Therapy Units were out in full, offering a calm space and a chance for people to connect, unwind and just take a moment when they needed it. It was lovely to see so many families, supporters and the community coming together.

A big thank you to Rachel Meeler, Niamh Millerick and the wider team at As I Am for the work that went into making the day such a success – it really showed.

Our Mobile Sensory Units are designed to create a safe, relaxing environment for anyone who might feel overwhelmed, while our Canine Therapy sessions with Hope and her handler Alice bring a gentle, engaging way to support emotional wellbeing and connection.

Days like this are exactly what our Mobile Services are all about – meeting people where they are and supporting inclusion in real, meaningful ways.
