CHEEK VOLUME vs UNDER-EYE VOLUME ✨

These slides highlight something that’s easy to miss: the under-eye and cheek are not separate aesthetic areas — they form one continuous structural unit.

As we age, volume loss can occur across several facial fat compartments. Loss of support through the mid-cheek can flatten the cheek, increase the lid–cheek transition and make under-eye hollowing or shadowing appear more pronounced.

This is where injector experience matters. 👩‍⚕️

An experienced injector doesn’t automatically see an under-eye hollow and reach for tear-trough filler. Instead, we assess the whole midface — cheek projection, fat-compartment changes, ligament support, skin quality and the relationship between the lower eyelid and cheek.

Sometimes restoring carefully selected areas of cheek support first can soften the under-eye transition beautifully. In other patients, a small amount of direct under-eye treatment may also be appropriate. And in some faces, filler beneath the eye may not be the best treatment at all.

The goal isn’t simply to “fill the hollow.” It’s to understand why the hollow is there and restore volume strategically while respecting the anatomy.
