I'm so proud of what i am creating.

its a place to feel at peace.

it nourishes nature; we have so many bees,bumblebees, butterflies, hover flies and you name it.

the soil is better there are even some worms now.

there are more birds, i don't know if my soft fruits are safe this year!! the birds loved the perennial flower seeds.

there are about a hundred or more fruit trees than could feed generations...
if someone takes over after me.

i can't wait to share more with my neighbours..

the veggies, well that will take yearly work but every year the soil is better

i did this mostly by myself ( and couldn't if it wasn't for my husband supporting my passion to do this. he doesn't always get it. so thats where I've to believe in myself) and it has filled my soul when post concussion symptoms meant i couldn't do other things.

people can judge and say why aren't you at work, try it, it is work. it doesn't pay my bills but it leaves this planet and our health better.

I have a lot more to do to make this circular and less dependent on outside input, but the intention is there, the start started and the progress a yearly thing. 3 years ago there were only 6 fruit tree babies in a bare field.

is where you turn off every corporate and commercial message saying buy something because if you don't then you are worthless.
is where your body simply IS....and that IS is powerful and strong
is where you turn off the energy of war and feeling like a puppet on a social media string
is where you stop people wanting to own a slice of your energy, focus, and sanity
is where energy, creativity, love, support, and feeling at home lives.

dig the new potato plot and get rid of as many creeping buttercups as possible.
its hard work, i have so much respect for anyone growing their food. the creeping buttercup have gone mad so i covered them in card and sacks for the past month.

this year i will put down a biodegradable mulch cover; my back can't handle it without it as too much w**d growth

our soil is very poor so i add envirogrind compost and soil food from

beautiful calendula and honeyberry blossoms.

phew....tired now

brown rice flour and the ends of a bag of chestnut flour
some binder like potato,corn or tapioca flour.
bicarbonate of soda
greek yogurt
salt
dash honey

its been a busy week and more on the land.

1. The perennial bed has been cleared and mulched. the mulch sold to us is far too green but hey ho. I understand the benefits to soil and feeding birds for leaving all the perennials go wild over winter. But wow it made for a heap of work to clear it and an absolute invasion of creeping buttercup.

i have lots of seeding bergamot, it smells amazing. the yarrow has also run riot, perhaps a little too much so quite a lot got the sharp end of the shovel. ditto re mint. but i think ive to pick my favourite cover to he honest...and its not buttercups.

a few new additions, lets see what comes this summer, last was amazing.

2. first early potatoes are in drills, mid early in bags. people told me that spuds will work the soil. This is a myth. They are lazy bastards that barely worked the soil at all. I did!! the soil is better as i broke my back digging in envirogrind soil and grass all season last year!!

3. veg bed is ready and some rocket, spinach and parsley in. Ive some last man standing chard and turnips there also. seedlings are currently growing to get strong for planting out. i grow everything from seed.

4. the birds love the calendula seeds, its probably seeding everywhere.

5. 107 to be exact, ranunculus planted. i hope they thrive they are a gorgeous flower. ill forgive their relation to buttercups ( same family, ranunculus are not invasive).

6. 2 wheelbarrows of creeping buttercup taken from around 5 fruit trees. i have to admit, they made the soil very good but its slainte for now and im trialling linen covers to keep the grass back and the compost for the tree roots only.

a good fortnights work done.
