SNEHANA in Sanskrit translates to OIL and to LOVE, therefore application of oil to our bodies is a form of SELF LOVE 🤍

In Ayurveda, sneha is a soft, oily or lubricating substance, and snehana is the treatment process of oleation, in which sneha, such as ghee or medicated oils, are applied to the body. Snehana can be administered both externally and internally, with two main types of sneha oil and ghee.
Snehana is used to detoxify organs and lubricate or soften tissues in the body. Therapies can help to detach toxins from wherever they are stored in the body, channeling them to the gastrointestinal tract. In this way, toxins can be easily eliminated from the body.

1. Internal (abhyantara) – in which fat is administered either orally, through the nose or as an e***a. Prior to abhyantara snehana treatment, the patient will have a restricted diet in order to clear the body's channels, and the treatment itself is usually conducted whilst fasting.

2. External (bahya) – which can take the form of head, foot or body massage, oil pulling or gargling, application of sneha to specific parts of the body in which warm oil is poured continually onto the body.

Snehana is particularly effective in treating Vata disorders, such as insomnia, stress, and anxiety. It is also used to treat infertility, dry skin, anemia and fatigue. It is not advisable for those suffering from indigestion, diarrhea, vomiting, weak digestion or anorexia.

One of my favourite treatments to offer is whole body Abhyanga massage, using warm medicated oils to help stimulate the immune system, improving lymph flow and revitalising the entire body.

Thank you so much to everyone for the best wishes and support since opening the room at La Belle Hollistique.
I have been busy busy and am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve and share wherever I can, my heart is sincerely full 🤍

A huge thank you to the beautiful Michelle Mindful Menace for tailoring some very special meditation cushions, bolsters and eye pillows for our comfort during yoga practice 🥰🙏🏻

To celebrate, I’m offering an intimate Yin Yoga with Reiki practice this Wednesday and Friday evening from 8-9pm with limited space available.
From March onwards classes and packages will be available for a more consistent yoga practice 🧘🏼‍♀️
One to one yoga sessions are accessible for anybody interested in learning the art of yoga for personal practice.

Brief and Benefits…

Yin Yoga with Reiki is a customised practice that I was taught while living in Toronto, having already completed my Reiki masters training with the gorgeous Ger at La Belle the previous year 🙏🏻💕
This class includes a beautiful blend of Reiki energy healing and gentle yin yoga postures, encouraging energetic alignment, deep relaxation and mind-body connection, a perfect combination to wind down after the day is done.
Yin yoga is a passive style of Hatha yoga that focuses on the connective tissues of the bones, joints, ligaments and fascia, holding gentle postures for a period of time. The benefits of this practice include physical strengthening of the tissues, emotional release, breath awareness whilst stimulating the flow of energy and removing blockages in the channels of our body.

Namaste 🙏🏻

Here is a brief insight into my practice at La Belle Hollistique 🤍

Ayurveda is the healing branch of Yoga!

I was first introduced to Ayurveda during my yoga teacher training in India, it became a topic of interest for me as I understood on completion that one size most definitely will not fit all. I wondered how I could tailor the practice to suit anybody on their journey to physical health and emotional wellbeing, leading me to further my studies in Ayurveda the ancient sister science of Yoga.

Ayurveda is translated from Sanskrit language as the Knowledge of Life. It’s foundation is based on the natural laws of the universe including the five great elements of earth, water, fire, wind and ether. These elements are presented in the body and mind as Vata, Pitta and Kapha Doshas.
Every living being on this planet is a unique combination of these elements in varying degrees, understanding this we can begin to bring harmony to any disturbance or imbalance in our body and mind.

The ultimate goal is for the good of all life not just for our own personal benefit.

Ayurvedas approach to wellbeing begins in the kitchen and by using foods, herbs, routine, yoga and therapies we set ourselves up for success in maintaining our own individual balance. According to Ayurveda preventative medicine is a far better practice than curative medicine, and by taking the right actions today we can look forward to a happier, healthier tomorrow remaining in a balanced state for whatever challenges may come our way.

NAMASTE 2024 🤍

The New Moon energy is circulating around us and personally I’m making my own goals and wishes for the year ahead and beyond.
Which takes me to why I’m here typing…..I’m overjoyed to announce my room is open and ready at La Belle Hollistique, where I’ll be offering Ayurvedic Consultation, Therapies and Yoga.

My own journey of wellbeing and realising that “My health is 100% my own responsibility” began many moons ago. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled and studied in Australia, Canada, India and London, to arrive back to an ever expanding Portarlington, where I’ve continued to learn and grow. Finally, the opportunity came to share a space with the beautiful team at La Belle Hollistique, where I am offering a unique approach to health through Ayurveda and Yoga. In future content I will provide a more detailed approach to the ancient healing teachings of Ayurveda and Yoga .
For now I just wanted to say HI :) and I’m here to serve, help and educate in any way I can!

Love & Light,

Amy Elizabeth Dunne
