This lovely young client came to me feeling unsure about what products to use for her skin. She was struggling with congestion, breakouts and some post-breakout scarring, and needed a plan that would work with her skin rather than overwhelm it

Me, Myself & My Skin 🤍

Wind back to August 2023…
What started as a tiny red patch with one little spot was nothing I thought twice about. I blamed hormones and told myself, “It’ll clear in a couple of days.” But a couple of weeks passed, and not only did it not clear — it spread. Across my chin… then around my nose. That’s when I knew something wasn’t right

I started going through everything in my head:
Did I change my diet? Am I eating more sugar? Did I switch perfume? Washing powder? Nothing made sense — and my skin was getting progressively worse. It began to scab over, bleed, throb, burn hot to the touch… dry, cracked, and so uncomfortable

So off to the doctor I went, convinced it had to be some kind of dermatitis. They gave me antibiotics and a cream. It helped a little, but nowhere near enough. I went back, got another cream, and was told it was acne (which I knew deep down it wasn’t). The next cream actually burnt my skin and left me with blisters

At that point, I stepped back and asked myself:
“If I were my own client, what would I recommend?”

So I stripped my routine right down — just a cleanser, moisturiser, and daily SPF.
Then I looked at my diet: eating clean, 3 litres of water a day… and then the little lightbulb moment happened

I realised I had recently started taking a protein powder — one shake a day — and it was 98% dairy. So I cut dairy out completely. My skin definitely improved… but it still wasn’t where I wanted it to be

We decided to bring in a new facial treatment into the salon: HydraTouch h2.
We’d been looking at it for a while, and honestly, at that point I thought, “It can’t make my skin any worse”

And no lies… after THREE HydraTouch facials, just focused on my chin and nose, my skin was completely clear

I couldn’t believe something so simple could fix my skin — and give me my confidence back
