Great tip and easy to set up .

*IMPORTANT PHONE TIP*

Most phones have an Emergency Medical ID you can set up.

*To set it up:*
- *iPhone*: Health app → Medical ID → Edit
- *Android*: Settings → Search "Emergency

If you hold the 2 side buttons, emergency services can see your info even when your phone is locked.

*You can add:*
- Name + Date of Birth
- Address
- Allergies
- Medications
- Blood Type + Organ Donor status
- ICE Contacts - In Case of Emergency

*This helps paramedics, Garda Síochána, and emergency personnel if you can’t speak or are unconscious.

*Important:* Please keep your info updated if your meds or medical details change.

*If you have a DNR:* Write in the notes where the paper copy is kept. Ex: "DNR in kitchen drawer" or "DNR in car glovebox".
The legal document still needs to be accessible.

Please take 2 minutes to set this up on your phone. It could save your life.

Update it if anything changes.

This heatwave may be coming to an end (for now!), but sun safety is still important.

Even on cooler or cloudy days, UV rays can be strong enough to damage your skin. If you're spending time outdoors, always remember to:

☀️ Slip on clothing that covers your skin.
🧴 Slop on broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+ for adults, SPF 50+ for children) and reapply regularly.
🧢 Slap on a wide-brimmed hat.
😎 Seek shade, especially between 11am and 3pm.
🕶️ Slide on sunglasses with UV protection.

A little sun protection goes a long way.

We are delighted with our new defibrillator signs guiding the public to the nearest defibrillator. They were made and donated by someone who wants to remain anonymous and we want to say thank you to them. Also thank you to Cllr Liam Brennan for erecting them for us.

Recently, a group of CFRs from Donegal, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim and Cavan completed their CFR/Heartsaver Instructor course under the guidance and instruction of our Community Engagement Officers John and Liam.

Very well done to all who completed the course! Brilliant to see so many people getting involved in training the CFRs of the future 👏👏

Last night we held our first AGM. We recapped on the highs and lows of our first year and our ambitions for the year ahead. There was huge work put in to get our group started 👏 big kudos to Marina Swann (chair) Úna McDermott (coordinator ) Anne Harcourt (secretary) and Geraldine Kelly (treasurer) (all pictured below) for this as well as all of our hugely dedicated committee members and volunteers ❤️.
Also a thanks to our newly appointed vice chair Cllr Liam Brennan for continuing to champion our group at county council level.
Stay tuned for more first responders community updates.
