It’s completely normal to feel a little anxious on the day of your egg collection.

We’ve put together a simple guide on how to prepare and what to expect.

🟣 Do I Need To Fast Before My Procedure?
Yes. You will be advised not to eat or drink for a period of time before your egg collection. Our team will give you exact instructions in advance, based on the time of your procedure.

🟣 How Should I Prepare On The Day?
Avoid wearing jewellery, makeup, nail polish. Avoid strong Wear comfortable clothing and plan for a restful day.

🟣 How Long Will I Be At The Clinic?
You will be with us for about 3-4 hours in total, including preparation and recovery time. You will have your own room in our ward to rest before and after your procedure. The procedure itself is short.

🟣 Will I Be Given Sedation?
Yes, before the procedure, you will be given sedation via a small IV cannula in your arm or hand. We use conscious sedation, which means you will still respond to gentle stimulus while remaining relaxed and comfortable.

🟣 Is The Procedure Painful?
No. You may feel some discomfort at times, but this is typically mild and most people tolerate it very well. We will administer additional medications if needed.

🟣 What Happens During The Procedure?
In addition to sedation, you will also be given oxygen through a mask during your procedure. Throughout the procedure and in recovery, we will closely monitor your blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen levels.

🟣 What should I Expect Afterwards?
It is normal to feel tired and to experience some mild cramping or light spotting after the procedure. Some patients may also experience constipation.
