Are you TTC or trying to understand your body by tracking your monthly cycle?

Fertility clients that have been here at BK Reflexology will know of Basal Body Temperature.
“Can I see your chart please?” is one of many cycle based questions I ask prior to you receiving reflexology. Giving me a clearer picture of what protocol your body may need during your appointment.

Cervical mucus and your BBT can give tell tale signs on where you are in your cycle, but they give an insight on different things 👇🏼

đź’¦ Cervical mucus
You’ll notice cervical mucus is not the same consistency throughout the month.
As oestrogen rises, your cervical mucus changes. When you start seeing a watery / egg white consistency, it’s a sign that you’re fertile and in your ovulatory phase. This can be very helpful in figuring out when your fertile window is approaching.

🌡️ BBT
Your basal body temperature rises after ovulation because of the increase in the hormone progesterone. After you ovulate and come into your Luteal phase, your temperature should remain slightly higher than it had been throughout your Menstrual, Follicular and Ovulatory phase.
So a sustained rise in your basal body temperature can help confirm that ovulation has already happened.

So to break that down ..

đź’¦ Cervical mucus = ovulation is likely approaching
🌡️ BBT = ovulation has likely happened

🩸If you’re trying to understand your cycle or TTC this is why tracking both gives both you and your practitioner insight and can be helpful.
The more you chart and notice these patterns the more aware you become of any changes throughout your monthly cycle.
One gives you a wee heads up your fertile phase is on the way, the other helps you look back and confirm what’s happening in your cycle.
