📚 Order Your Copy of My Book Today My name is Janine van Someren and I’m passionate about passing on science based wellbeing tips to the clients I work with on a daily basis who are struggling with the stresses

of modern life. Prior to March 2020, I was working in south-west London initially as a sport scientist and then as an accredited transformational wellbeing coach, using positive psychology and behavioural change techniques to support clients through work and life challenges. When Covid-19 brought the world to a standstill it allowed the time and space to explore life priorities. The pull of the Irish lifestyle, with big skies, epic seas and of course a large family network proved too strong; I returned to the west of Ireland with my husband Ken, two boys (plus a very shy cat) and launched The Wellbeing Advantage. The Wellbeing Advantage brings together my passion for health and wellbeing, with my ability to gather and analyse client data, to provide a detailed x-ray of their day that highlights their strengths and identify areas for growth.

For a whistlestop tour of my book you won't get better than Brendan Tierney's rapid fire round of questions on all things 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚋𝚎𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙰𝚍𝚟𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚐𝚎 on The Sligo Show.

In Part 3 of my conversation with Brendan we explore:
✔ High-functioning burnout
✔ Why recovery is part of performance
✔ The hidden cost of always being "on"
✔ How wearable data helps make the invisible visible

One of the key messages from the conversation is simple:
The people who perform best long-term are often the people who recover best because sustainable performance isn't about pushing harder, it's about creating the capacity to keep going without burning out.

People often assume wellbeing experts have it all figured out but the truth is very different.

Years ago, despite having a degree, a master's and a PhD in sport, health and wellbeing, I found myself standing in the middle of a school field on a beautiful sunny day feeling completely overwhelmed.

From the outside everything looked fine but inside, I was struggling.

That experience taught me something I now share with clients every day:
Knowledge isn't enough.

Insights from high performance translated for the real world and building sustainable wellbeing…

The last two months have been extraordinary.

Honestly, it feels like a culmination of everything I dreamed of for The Wellbeing Advantage.

From speaking opportunities
To meaningful conversations
To the launch of my book
To connecting with people who are genuinely ready to prioritize their wellbeing differently

I’ve found myself pausing more often lately to take it all in.

I speak about gratitude a lot.
Not as toxic positivity.
Not as pretending life is perfect.

But as a practice of noticing.
Noticing what matters.
Noticing growth.
Noticing the people who support us.
Noticing the moments we once hoped for quietly in the background.

Because holistic wellbeing is not just about performance, productivity, or pushing harder.

It is also about feeling aligned with your purpose.
Feeling connected to what you are building.
Feeling present enough to appreciate it while it is happening.

There have been many hard moments behind this journey.
Moments of uncertainty, rebuilding, and questioning.

Which is why I don’t take this for granted.

If you have supported me, worked with me, attended a workshop, bought the book, shared a post, or simply encouraged me along the way… thank you.

I’m incredibly grateful. 💛

Whatever new habit you’re adopting, you want to make it stick!
And habits become sticky when they’re small, easy to do, and fit with the reality of your life!
Life is tricky enough!
All my work is based on helping you build awareness of what habits are right for you, making them small but impactful and sticky enough that they become embedded into your every day…
I loved sharing habits with Oonagh from Meaghers Pharmacy at their amazing 360 Wellbess Village in Bloom!
I’ve shared all my tips from a life researching and supporting high performers in my new book… ask for it at your local bookshop or buy online
