Day 1 at and what an incredible start.
Today was packed with high-level scientific sessions — from precision filler techniques with the Galderma portfolio, to medically driven weight loss and the impact of menopause on skin health. The depth of discussion around skin physiology, ageing, and regenerative strategies is genuinely impressive.
I also attended sessions on skin health optimisation and emerging approaches to hair loss treatment — an area evolving rapidly with some very promising innovations.
The scale of AMWC is something you have to experience — cutting-edge devices, next-generation technologies, and a constant flow of new ideas. It’s a lot to take in, but that’s what makes it so exciting.
So many insights already from day one — and plenty more to come.

One of the absolute highlights of for me was attending lectures by — and having the privilege of meeting — Dr. Jean Carruthers, the true pioneer of cosmetic Botox.
Dr. Carruthers, an ophthalmologist from Vancouver, helped transform aesthetic medicine when she and her husband, dermatologist Dr. Alastair Carruthers, discovered in the late 1980s that botulinum toxin could soften frown lines. What began as an observation in patients being treated for eye muscle disorders ultimately led to one of the most widely performed aesthetic treatments in the world.
A few remarkable facts about Dr. Carruthers:�
✨ She co-published the landmark 1992 paper describing the cosmetic use of botulinum toxin for glabellar lines�
✨ Her work paved the way for the FDA approval of Botox for aesthetic use in 2002�✨ She is widely regarded as one of the founders of modern aesthetic medicine
Meeting someone whose work has shaped our field so profoundly was truly special — and as you can see from the big smile on my face, I was absolutely delighted.
Moments like this remind me how far aesthetic medicine has come, and how inspiring it is to learn directly from the pioneers who changed the field.
