📍 November 15 - World Acupuncture Day! 😊
The history of acupuncture is very long.
📍 Article in the scientific medical journal The Lancet, published in 1999. provides this information:
📍 “We assume that a medical system similar to acupuncture could have been practiced in Central Europe 5,200 years ago. It seems, then, that similar treatments were in use long before their earlier, well-known practice in the ancient Chinese medical tradition. This means the probability that acupuncture originating in the Eurasian continent was practiced at least 2,000. years earlier than is recognized. "
In 1979, the World Health Organization (WHO) decided to address the issue of acupuncture in detail due to its steadily growing popularity.
During the symposium in Beijing, WHO doctors compiled a list of 43 diseases and ailments that acupuncture can be helpful in treating.
