Can I go in the sun with a fresh scar? ☀️

If you have recently developed a scar, for example after surgery or a burn, it is important to be extra careful in the sun.

Our advice is to always protect your skin from the sun, but this is especially important for sensitive skin with a fresh scar. Scar tissue does not have the same natural protection as normal skin, which makes it more vulnerable.

A scar needs extra protection for 1 to 2 years after it forms. Be careful with sunlight while the scar is still active and use products with a high sun protection factor.

All scars are vulnerable, but fresh scars are even more sensitive. That is why it is important to protect a new scar every day, even when the sun is not clearly visible. 🌥️

Do scars fade in the sun?

No, this is a myth. Scars do not fade because of the sun. In fact, scar tissue can become darker or more noticeable after sun exposure.
