I sat with Elder today and was deeply surprised with what was shared by bark, leaves, flowers, fragrance and stem. Some direct encounters with the beings of nature are best protected in the sanctity of our inner worlds until they are fully digested.

Tree Song continues this Sunday, where we will have a whole day of sitting with and singing out the wisdom of Elder in one of the most magical pockets of woodland I've ever met.

An opportunity to step out of time and meet the bubbling gnosis that can only be felt through space amongst the trees. For those who yearn inhabit a place of deep listening!

You are most welcome to be with us on this continuing journey of resensitisation and excavation of voice. I would love to sing, move, feel (and maybe even nap 😉) with you nestled in the woods!

Medicinal tea and light lunch included. Please reach out if funds are a barrier.

Is Elder calling you? 🌱✨️

She called me to sit with her today and told me to bring my guitar. I haven't held my guitar in months - She knows too well!

My heart instantly softens and a need to weep bubbles up from my womb to my heart to my throat. "Let it come, child" she whispers. "Let yourself feel it all." The immensity of the subtlety in which she speaks is overpowering. Pure intimacy. Pure presence. Pure love.

I stay a while and offer my body up as a vessel for her song to gain wings. Her melodies bring tears to my eyes and caress a grief so deep - "How could I forget? How could I leave it so long? How could I get lost in the busy-ness yet again?"

"It is OK my child, fret not. You are always welcome my child, for I am always here. You may forget my child, but you don't have to leave it so long until next time". The care and gentleness in her essence almost rips me apart.

A grandmother's love who only wants the best for her kin. Matriarch. Mother Tree. The one to whom the whole clann turns to for co-regulation.

The tears never find a place to flow, and my heart continues to ache. Yet I am changed by just sitting close to her. Her soft strength and gentle presence are imprinted at my back as the clenching and holding slowly melt away.

This remembrance of relationship and kinship is a medicine beyond words that I wish for everyone to rekindle. She is always reaching out a branch - an invitation of reclamation.

On Sunday the 10th of May we will sink into timelessness with Hawthorn. We will bow to her generosity of spirit and love. We will welcome her presence and wisdom. We will allow her songs to be sung through us.

If your tender heart needs a place to crack open, if you voice needs a song to be carried upon, if your chest needs to meet the Earth - you are most welcome to join us.

Hawthorn is blooming, her scent carrying Bealtaine Blessings upon the winds.

The birds are joyously singing and the trees ask us to sing with them.

Tree Song is a series of workshops for those who wish to explore their voices in wild connection with the more than human realms. Who yearn to offer their bodies up as instruments for the trees to create symphonies with. Who know that there is always a song in the natural world waiting to be sung, if we can just listen deeply enough.

I welcome you to the most magical place in Galway, and invite you to join us on a musical exploration of the wisdom of hawthorn. We will drink her tea, sit with her medicine, drop into silence and re-sensitise ourselves to the vibrations of nature. We will explore our bodies and voices through a somatic lens. We will learn the basics of collaborative vocal improvisation. We will sing the song of the hawthorn in the moment.

Nothing to teach. Nothing to be learned. Only a deep remembrance of the space of listening that connects us to all that has ever been and ever will be.

I am SO excited to share this space of presence with you.

I made cherry blossom syrup today. I often sing to and with this cherry tree as she is right outside my front door. I've loved witnessing her bloom with such abundance and generosity. Every time the wind blows, she creates a party by throwing out her petal confetti in the most beautiful way that often takes my breath away.

This is a snippet of a little thank you song I sang to her as the syrup was simmering on the stove.

I continue to deepen into the knowing that now more than ever, we need to strengthen our relationships with the beyond human kin. These teachers and elders can remind us of what we have forgotten so that we may remember how to tend to our human kin with care at the centre.

Deep Listening

Reciprocity

Some days I find it really hard to actually hear the voices of the nature beings all around me. There's static in the channel because... Well you know why! I often find creating intentional spaces with others to drop into that deeper listening makes it a lot more accessible.

I have an upcoming series of workshops called Tree Song in which we will dive into these relationships through our bodies, our felt sense, our voices. We will spend the whole day in communion with our chosen tree spirit of the month and truly listen to what they have to say.

We begin with Hawthorn on the 10th of may, and I would love to create a space of deep listening with you. DM me TreeSong for the details ✨

Have you ever yearned to hear the songs of the trees?
Have you ever longed to be an instrument for those songs?
Do you wish to be in a deep listening space with others who also sense that this is possible?

In these times, it is needed more than ever, for us to lend our ears and voices to the more than human. To open up our perception in connection with the current of life humming through all living beings. To listen to the teachings and receive the wisdom of our rooted elders who have been here long before us. By doing so, weave ourselves back into the web of belonging and remember who and why we are.

I have a series of workshops coming up over the summer into autumn in which we will do just that! Through Tree Song, I invite you to a space of deep listening and re-sensitisation through body, voice and presence with the natural world.

We will gather once a month over 6 months to be the instruments of sound for the songs of nature to move through. By drinking the medicine of each tree we work with, fully inhabiting our bodies, sitting in silence in the woods, exploring our voices through a somatic approach and learning some basic techniques of collaborative vocal improvisation, these days will invite us into contact with more subtle realms of awareness, seeing, sensing and singing.

I am taking a pause.

To compost
To be with what has been
To be with what is
To rest
To dream
To listen deeply

Solstice blessings to all.

May these dark nights of stillness bring clarity, connection and a deeply rooted trust in the cycles of life, death and rebirth.

What if community building began with laying it all bare, and allowing ourselves to crumble in front of each other?

What if our deepest pain, grief and sorrow - when truly met, felt, held and witnessed - becomes compost; the fertile soil in which we plant seeds of regeneration?

What if our tears are what water and nourish these seeds of a new paradigm?

The tender-hearted urge to bare it all and be loved, even in your fragments and deepest wounds ❤️‍🔥

My heart cracks open more and more each day
The fragments laid bare for all to see

The oak offers her safety
The bear offers her comfort
The bramble offers her a voice for her rage
The raven offers protection
The rose offers her sweetness
The fox offers her playfulness
The hawthorn offers her wisdom
The deer offers her innocence
The ash offers her regeneration

And before she knows it,
An ecosystem of tenderness loves her back into
