DAY 7 💜

One week ago I decided it was time to stop waiting for motivation and simply get back to the habits that work.

No quick fixes.
No guilt.
No "I'll start again Monday".

Just getting back to basics.

🥣 Planning ahead
🛒 Keeping the fridge stocked
🍗 Filling up on Free Foods
🥗 Adding plenty of Speed Foods
💧 Drinking my water
🚶‍♀️ Moving my body
🍫 Enjoying a few SWIPs and moving on

The scales haven't had their say yet, but after 7 days I already know this:

✅ I've been more organised
✅ I've made better choices
✅ I've stopped picking at random foods
✅ I've enjoyed my meals
✅ I've focused on what I can control

Sometimes we think we need motivation.

Most of the time we just need to get back to the simple habits that helped us before.

One meal.
One choice.
One day at a time.

Week 1 done ✔️

Now let's see what Week 2 brings 💪💜

Day 5 of getting back on track 💪

Today wasn't about being perfect. It was about making choices that moved me closer to where I want to be.

Breakfast was my raspberry baked oats and a coffee. Lunch was brown soda bread, a slice of cheese and scrambled eggs. I was still feeling a little peckish afterwards, so I had a whey protein isolate drink rather than picking at random bits and pieces.

I knew I was eating out tonight, so I planned for it. Dinner was chicken curry with rice, and I asked for extra greens. Dessert was a fruit salad. The hotel were so accommodating and I genuinely enjoyed every bite.

One thing I've learned over the years is that successful weight loss isn't about avoiding life. It's about planning for it. Meals out, holidays, weekends away, concerts, birthdays and celebrations are all going to happen. Pretending they won't doesn't get results. Learning how to navigate them does.

The biggest win wasn't the food though. It was making the decisions consciously and walking away feeling proud of myself.

Tomorrow brings a new challenge. We're heading to Killarney for a concert at BikeFest, so it's time to think ahead and figure out how I'm going to navigate that one too.

One day at a time.
One choice at a time.

Day 4 of getting back on track 💪

This week in groups we focused on emotional eating and some of the tools we can use to be better equipped when we find ourselves in situations that challenge us.

One of the things we talked about is that food isn't always the answer. Sometimes what we really need is a change of environment, a distraction, movement, fresh air, connection, or simply a chance to clear our heads.

So this evening, I took my own advice.

Instead of sitting at home overthinking everything, I laced up the boots and headed up Torc Mountain 🏔️

A couple of hours outdoors, some fresh air, a good climb, and a reminder of how much better I feel when I move my body and give myself some headspace.

The last few weeks have been full of adventures, travel, mountains, and memories. Now it's time to dial in my nutrition, fuel my training, and focus on the next goals.

💥 Hyrox
💥 Marathon training
💥 Getting fitter and stronger

One meal.
One workout.
One decision at a time.

Progress doesn't come from being perfect. It comes from practising the habits we know help us, especially on the days we need them most.

Adventure mode: complete (for now) 🏔️✈️🌍

What a few weeks.

From trekking in Nepal and taking in Kathmandu, to last weekend in the mountains in Greece with two days of every type of weather imaginable… rain, cloud, sunshine and everything in between.

Things didn’t go exactly to plan and we didn’t make the summit this time, but mountains have a funny way of reminding you that sometimes the experience is the achievement. Turning back doesn’t take away from the adventure.

And if I’m being real… my nutrition has gone a bit wandering too 🤣

No regrets. Memories made. Experiences over perfection every time. But I know myself… I feel my best when I’ve got a bit of structure and routine.

I’ve also gone a bit quiet on social media lately. Not for any big reason, just not hugely motivated to post beyond little snapshots of life.

So here’s my little accountability post.

The adventures aren’t over… but holiday mode is 😅

I’ve got exciting things coming up and I want to enjoy them properly and show up feeling my best for them too. Time to dial in my nutrition again, fuel my performance, get back into routines that support me and feel good in myself.

Not to undo anything.
Not to punish myself.
Just to feel stronger, healthier and ready for what’s next 💜

Back to it ✨

Sometimes it’s not coming back that feels hard… it’s wondering what it’s going to cost 💭

I get it… life happens, routines slip, holidays happen, motivation dips and before you know it a few weeks have passed.
