Peppermint Pals

Peppermint Pals Animal Assisted Therapy at Peppermint Pals is goal focussed on a 1-to-1 basis using our trained animals to help people with extra needs.

What is Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)? It is a type of therapy that involves the use of trained animals as a form of treatment. The aim is to help to improve a person’s social interactions, emotional and cognitive functions. We use Animal Assisted Activities with various animals and trained facilitators to achieve this. How our Animal Assisted Activities work
We recognise that every person has ver

y different needs and challenges, so each session is designed around each individual child. All goals set for each individual will be measurable, set with help from parents, carers, teachers, therapists and any other professionals involved in their care and development. There are always routine activities to be carried out daily but there are always different activities to be done when the person is ready. Peppermint Pals therapy sessions are facilitated by Jennifer Payne at our farm in Tulsk, Co Roscommon. We have a number of friendly well trained animals who love company and like to help us to learn.
