I have taken part in the dip solo, with friends, with family, even helping out one year, got to wear a head honcho tshirt!!
This year I am doing in in memory of my mother that dipped in 2018 and every year she could in her 80s!!! What a mná na héire!! Strong, bold, determined 💪 👏

Mammy (Mai) LOVED this event. She took part starting at the 1st world record, lelia her daughter wrote out the words to 'this is me' that she practiced and sang for the radio the morning of the dip delighted to be one of the many voices raised that day... Mammy, Lelia, Clíona, her granddaughter and I shared laughter and songs in the field preparing ourselves. Painted our bodies with flowers and butterflies 🦋 at that time to remember my beautiful sister Mary and my friend, a soul sister Leslie. We stood on the beach hand in hand a few of the many but for us the centers of our worlds. When my mother said now child, we shall leave our old selves in the sea and come out new... what a woman!!

The following year Helen her eldest daughter and Anna joined in the body painting, singing fun that was to be had. Mammy dipped for the 2nd world record at home and most of her family joined in sending photos from around the world lifting her heart during the lock downs.

This year we dip in memory of Mammy, Mary, Helen and Leslie who were each strong, kind, individual women that have given love in their life times, I will proundly bare all to remember them and raise a few shillings, on this 3rd world record attempt falling on Helen two feathers birthday x

A welcome peep from a swimming seal to lazing in the sun, a new born pup to the setting sun. These beautiful creatures in their habitat a place they call home. I spent some weeks working in the fields and shoreline with a conservation group making sure these and others continue to thrive. It was magic!!
One lesson I learned was when seeing the pups their golden coats, so tiny in comparison to their adults, immediately my arms ached to hold them protect them from the weather. To humanly wrap them in blankets What a nightmare that would have been for them!! To suffer my humaness!!
Take away: not all one size fits all 💚
