During the lockdown of 2020, my skin was suffering from eczema flareups between my legs. (Colin writing here)
I was stressed and just washing with whatever I could get my hands on, and nothing seemed to help.
At the time, Maria was making her own soaps in our kitchen to save money and because she grew up watching women make soap in the streets of Spain. She made one with porridge, goat's milk and tallow, an ingredient with a long history of use for skin in Ireland.
I decided to cut out everything else and just started washing with it.
I started eating organic, drinking cleaner water.
And my eczema cleared up.
That realization showed me how stripping things back to simple, natural ingredients could be the most effective solution.
Sometimes the answer isn't a complex formula from a lab, but something much closer to the land.
Itโs often in our own moments of need that we find the solutions that can go on to help others too.
What's a simple change you've made that had a surprisingly big impact?
