It’s not just a sound, it’s a nervous system reset.

Himalayan singing bowls create layers of vibration that the body responds to very quickly.

The rhythmic tones can help guide the brain out of busy beta waves and into slower alpha and theta states linked with relaxation.

The deeper frequencies also stimulate the vagus nerve, helping the body shift into rest and digest mode.

And because the body is mostly water, those vibrations travel through tissues almost like a gentle internal massage.

The ocean drum is always a favourite in my sound baths.

It gently replicates the sound of waves rolling in and out. That steady, predictable rhythm does something important for the nervous system.

Our bodies relax when there’s rhythm.

Slow, repetitive sound gives the brain a signal of safety.

And when the nervous system feels safe, the body follows.

Breathing deepens.
Shoulders drop.
Thoughts slow down.

It’s not just a “nice sound.”
It’s regulation through rhythm.
