☀️🍔 ANNUAL BBQ DAY! 🍔☀️

After all the wet weather we’ve been having lately, we were so fortunate to be blessed with a wonderful day full of sunshine for our Annual BBQ! 🌞💛
It was a fantastic day filled with amazing food, lots of laughter and great memories, shared with our wonderful residents, their families and our fantastic staff. 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing kitchen staff for preparing such a delicious BBQ and all the wonderful food — it was absolutely enjoyed by everyone! 👏🍗🥗🍰

Most importantly, it was lovely to see our residents enjoying the sunshine and spending quality time with their loved ones and the staff who care for them. ❤️
Here’s to another fantastic BBQ and many more happy memories together! 🌞🎉

🇮🇪💚 Nursing Home Week Ireland – Day 4 💚🇮🇪

What a truly wonderful Day 4 of Nursing Home Week we had! 🌿✨

Our Thursday morning began with a beautiful Mass, prayers and Communion, led by our Lay/Eucharistic Minister, Margaret. It was lovely to see a full house as residents came together for a peaceful and meaningful morning of prayer, reflection and community. 🙏⛪️

Then, in the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome the wonderful Nora Valley Petting Farm! 🐐🐰🐹🐥

Our residents had the most amazing time meeting and gently petting some very special little visitors, including adorable baby goats, fluffy bunnies, guinea pigs and tiny baby chicks. ❤️

There were lots of smiles, laughter and beautiful moments shared as our residents connected with nature and enjoyed the simple happiness that these little animals brought to our home. 🥰🌱

Nursing Home Week is all about celebrating the people who make our nursing homes such special places — our residents, families, staff, volunteers and wider community. 💚

Day 4 was a wonderful reminder that life is about connection, friendship, meaningful experiences and making memories together. Living life in full Bloom. And connecting with nature in the comfort of our home.

A huge thank you to Margaret for our lovely morning service and to Nora Valley Petting Farm for bringing so much joy to our residents. 🐐🐥❤️

🌿 Nursing Homes Week 2026 – Day 2 🌿

Connected with Nature 💚

Day 2 brought another wonderful morning of getting connected with nature! 🌱🌼

Our residents enjoyed some fresh air outdoors, getting their hands busy planting beautiful hanging baskets to brighten up our surroundings. 🌸🪴
We also spent some time exploring our herb garden, taking in the lovely scents of the fresh herbs and enjoying the simple pleasures of being outside. 💚
There was even a chance to gather some of our home-grown carrots 🥕 — a lovely reminder of the joy that comes from growing and enjoying our own produce!

After a lovely morning in the fresh air, we travelled the world from the comfort of our armchairs in the afternoon, enjoying an Armchair Travel journey through 100 of the Most Beautiful Places in the World. 🌍✈️ From stunning scenery to breathtaking destinations, it was a wonderful afternoon of exploring, reminiscing and dreaming of places near and far. 💭🌎

🌿🌹 Nursing Homes Week – Connected with Nature 🌹🌿

What a beautiful way to begin Nursing Homes Week, celebrating this year’s theme of “Connected with Nature.” 💚🌿

Our morning began with a lovely yoga session, followed by relaxing sensory music, beautiful nature scenery and a peaceful meditation session. 🌳🦋🌸 It was a wonderful way to slow down, relax and connect with the beauty of nature around us.

Our afternoon was filled with music, laughter and reminiscing as we welcomed the wonderful Mick for some live entertainment. 🎶❤️ We enjoyed singing along to much-loved Irish songs, including The Fields of Athenry, which brought back lots of memories and stories from days gone by.

With The Rose of Tralee featuring in our celebrations on Monday and Tuesday, we had an extra-special connection this year. 🌹 Mick’s niece is the current Waterford Rose, making our singing of The Rose of Tralee even more meaningful. ❤️🌹
We would like to wish all of the Roses the very best of luck in the celebrations, but especially our Waterford Rose — we’ll be cheering you on! 🌹💙 Best of luck from all of us! 🍀

To make the afternoon even more special, each of our beautiful residents received a gorgeous red rose, freshly picked from our very own garden. 🌹🌿 A little piece of nature to brighten their day and add an extra touch of magic to our celebrations.

What a truly lovely first day of Nursing Homes Week — filled with nature, music, memories, friendship, laughter and beautiful moments shared together. 💚

This week, we proudly celebrated Carers Week and took the opportunity to recognise and thank our incredible Health Care Assistants for the outstanding work they do every single day.

To all of our wonderful carers, thank you for your hard work, dedication, compassion, and kindness. Your commitment to providing exceptional care and support makes a real difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

🌞 Hello June! 🌞

We are delighted to share our June Newsletter with everyone and bring you updates on all the wonderful activities taking place in our home.

This month, we are especially proud to introduce our Artist of the Month, Norreen! 🎨👏 With the encouragement and support of our fantastic volunteer, Deirdre, Norreen recently took part in her very first art session. It is always wonderful to see new faces joining our art therapy activities, discovering their creativity, and finding a meaningful form of self-expression. Well done, Norreen!

As we welcome the summer months, we hope everyone is looking forward to a season filled with sunshine, laughter, and happy memories. While the weather hasn't quite got off to the best start with all the rain, we were lucky enough to enjoy some brighter days, allowing our residents to spend time outdoors and get involved in a little gardening. 🌱🌼

We look forward to sharing more photos and highlights from our summer activities very soon!

Yesterday our residents enjoyed a wonderful fun visit from Big Noisy 99s 🍦💛

We might not have had the lovely sunshine we’ve been enjoying lately, but Big Noisy definitely brought the sunshine vibes to us! ☀️

There were smiles, laughter and lots of fun shared by residents, staff and families throughout the day.
A huge thank you to Big Noisy for coming to visit us — we loved every minute! 😊
