Why Do You Need SPF, and How Do You Choose the Right One? ☀️
SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates how well a sunscreen helps protect your skin from UV radiation. The sun is one of the main factors contributing to premature skin aging. While moderate sun exposure can be beneficial, daily sun protection is essential wherever you are.
👉🏻 How do you choose the right SPF level? (10, 15, 20, etc.)
The SPF number reflects the level of protection against UVB rays. For everyday city life, SPF 10–15 is often sufficient for many skin types, while for prolonged outdoor activities or a day at the beach, SPF 30 or higher is generally recommended.
❕How long does sunscreen protection last?
A simple way to estimate protection time is to multiply your skin’s natural sun tolerance by the SPF value. For example, if your skin begins to burn after 5 minutes of sun exposure, then with SPF 50:
5 × 50 = 250 minutes
Keep in mind that this is only an estimate. Sunscreen should be reapplied regularly, especially after swimming, sweating, or towel drying.
Always choose your SPF based on your skin type and individual needs. Sensitive skin that burns easily benefits from a higher level of protection, such as SPF 50, while normal skin may be comfortable with a lower SPF depending on sun exposure.
