You don’t see the busy early mornings, the thick patient files, the billing, the messages from suppliers and the dozens of small details.

And you shouldn’t have to!

That’s the point.

My team and I put so much care into everything behind the scenes, so that the moment you step in, you feel truly safe and taken care of.

The chaos of life and the challenges you carry can feel a little lighter once you’re inside, even for just an hour.

Totally worth it.

Today is Day 1 of UNMUTE 2.0, a 28-day challenge where I’ve committed to showing up on social media in some capacity (nearly) every single day!

I can’t believe it either. 😂

I’m finally ready to take the risk and connect with y’all here!

Social media terrifies me. And if something terrifies me, you know I’m probably going to try it ONCE… if only to explore why I’m so afraid. (I am having flashbacks to my solo desert retreat which was one of the most growth oriented and inspiring things I've ever done for myself)!

Somehow, in this crazy world we live in, social media has become another way for us to connect.

Connecting with friends, family, and patients has always come pretty naturally to me. But putting myself out there *publicly?* That’s a whole different story.

Am I ready?
Honestly, no.

But like so many other challenges I’ve faced in my life, I’m choosing to take the risk, step outside my comfort zone, and show up anyway.

I have no idea what will come of this, or where I’ll be 28 days from now. So BUCKLE UP.

Day 1/28

PART 2

So back to my client who had that wave of emotion come up mid-treatment.

Here's the piece that explains it. The lungs aren't just about breathing, they're tied to the part of you that holds physical sensation in the body. So when we do work like cupping, especially around the chest, and we release physical tension, sometimes whatever's been sitting underneath that tension comes up too. Her body was holding something, and the treatment gave it somewhere to go — right on schedule, according to everything we just talked about with Earth and Metal.

And the emotion connected to the lungs is grief.

But grief doesn't just mean you lost someone. It can be grief over a boundary that got crossed and you never really processed it. Or a version of yourself you've grown out of. Or a relationship that changed and you never quite mourned what it used to be.😔

By the end of her session she was exhausted but calmer.

So here's what I want you to take from this. If something like this happens to you in a treatment, or honestly just in your regular life over the next few months, your body is just doing exactly what this season asks of it. And if you can let it move instead of fighting it, you'll probably learn something about what you've been carrying.

Part 1:

It's the beginning of September and we're still deep in some kind of heatwave 🔥 so why am I talking about the coming fall season?

In Chinese medicine, the five elements nourish each other in a specific order, and Earth nourishes or generates Metal. Right now we're actually in Earth season (late summer), and Metal season of fall (Lung organ and grief related emotion) — is what comes next.

Whatever we're doing for ourselves during this stretch, even in this heat, sets up how we move into the next season.

I saw this play out with a client this week. And I want you to learn something from it.

These whatsapp groups become a place for birth bag prep, last-minute questions, helpful videos, and those first newborn photos that never stop melting my heart.🫠

It’s one of my favorite parts of accompanying families as a doula, and seeing them line up like this reminds me how lucky I am to do this work.

It's a busy baby season… and my heart is full!!
