Could omega-3 help your child feel calmer, more focused, and less impulsive?

For some children, one piece of the puzzle may be an insufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids — particularly DHA and EPA.

DHA plays an important role in normal brain, nervous system, and visual function, while EPA is involved in nervous system processes and the regulation of inflammation.

But here is something many parents may not realize:

Not every supplement labeled “Omega-3” is the same.

The amount of EPA and DHA matters.
The ratio between them matters.
The quality of the product matters.

And more is not always better.

Inappropriate doses may cause gastrointestinal side effects and may also affect platelet function. That is why omega-3 supplementation should not be based on guesswork.

The appropriate dose and balance of EPA and DHA should be considered according to your child’s individual needs and discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.

If your child is hyperactive, has difficulty concentrating, or experiences changes in mood, the goal should not simply be to add another supplement.

The first question should be:

**What might be happening inside their body?**

Understanding comes before intervention.

2:47 AM… and you’re still wondering why your child can’t sleep peacefully.

Sleep challenges can affect much more than the night itself. They can influence attention, mood, regulation, learning, and overall wellbeing.

At C.A.T. Center, we believe that every child deserves an individualized approach. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all plan, we look at each child’s unique biology and laboratory findings to better understand what may be contributing to their challenges.

Tali Engor, B.Sc. Pharmacy, B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Licensed Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist, leads this science-based approach with one goal: to understand the child behind the symptoms.

Understanding biology can change the way we look at sleep.

very autism mom carries challenges that others may never see. 💙

But what if some of those challenges could be better understood by looking beyond behavior alone?

At C.A.T. Center, I focus on understanding the biological and nutritional factors that may be associated with each child’s individual symptoms. Through comprehensive laboratory testing, I look for patterns that may help guide a more personalized nutritional support approach.

As a licensed pharmacist with a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, I founded C.A.T. Center to bring a laboratory-guided approach to nutritional support for children with autism.

Because behavior is what we see — but sometimes, the underlying biology can tell us more.

🧠 The behavior is visible.
🔬 The cause may not be.
💚 Every symptom tells a story.

Most autism support focuses on **what a child is doing.**
But sometimes, an equally important question is:

What are we missing?

Nutritional status, gut health, metabolic patterns, and mitochondrial function can all provide useful information about a child’s overall health and nutritional needs.

At C.A.T. Center, we use advanced laboratory testing to help identify these patterns and build a personalized, laboratory-guided nutritional support plan, based on the individual child, not guesswork.

Because every child is different.
And every piece of information matters.

**True or False?**

Should supplement recommendations be the same for every child with autism?

False.

Children with autism may have very different nutritional needs, laboratory findings, medical histories, diets, medications, and digestive patterns. A supplement that may be appropriate for one child may be unnecessary or unsuitable for another.

At the C.A.T. Center, recommendations are based on an individualized review that may include advanced laboratory testing, medical and nutritional history, current symptoms, diet, medications, and existing supplements.

The goal is not to recommend supplements at random, but to better understand each child’s individual biological profile and provide more targeted nutritional support.

Does your child experience bad breath, gas, constipation, or diarrhea?

Sometimes, these symptoms may be associated with an imbalance in the gut microbiome, a condition known as dysbiosis.

Several factors may influence the balance and diversity of bacteria in the digestive system, including:

• Antibiotic use
• Stress
• A selective diet low in vegetables and fiber
• A diet high in sweets and simple carbohydrates
• Certain medications

So, should you simply choose a probiotic and hope for the best?

Not necessarily.

Advanced stool testing can help identify signs of dysbiosis, inflammation, microbial overgrowth, and other markers related to digestive function.

When it comes to probiotics, taking “good bacteria” is not always enough. It is important to select the appropriate bacterial strains, combination, and dosage based on the laboratory findings and the child’s individual needs.

If your child is experiencing ongoing digestive symptoms, do not focus only on what you can see.

Look deeper at what may be happening inside their body.

Can you match each symptom to a possible biological factor? 🧩
Picky eating, poor sleep, difficulty focusing, and frequent digestive issues may sometimes be associated with different nutritional, metabolic, mitochondrial, or gut-related factors.

The challenge is that there is not always one simple explanation—and the same symptom may have different underlying contributors in different children.

At the C.A.T. Center, we believe in looking deeper and evaluating each child individually through advanced laboratory testing and a personalized review of their findings.

Every child is unique. Every possible underlying biological factor is worth investigating.

As parents, we often ask:
Why is my child struggling?
Why are therapies helping only so much?
Could there be something we're missing?

Sometimes, the next step isn't trying harder it's understanding deeper.

At the C.A.T. Center, we believe in looking beyond the symptoms to better understand what may be happening inside. Through a personalized, lab-guided approach, families can gain deeper insights that help support informed decisions. 💙 Because every child deserves an approach tailored to their unique needs.

Does your child complain of stomach pain almost every day?

It can be easy to treat recurring stomach discomfort as a separate issue, something unrelated to autism, behavior, sleep, or overall wellbeing.

But the gut and the brain are closely connected.

Digestive symptoms such as recurring abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, or other gastrointestinal discomfort may sometimes be associated with underlying biological factors that deserve a closer look.

At C.A.T. Center, we use advanced laboratory testing to investigate the individual biological and metabolic factors that may be contributing to a child’s symptoms.

Rather than looking at one symptom in isolation, we aim to understand the broader picture — including gut health, metabolic function, nutritional status, and other relevant laboratory findings.

Because when you understand what may be happening beneath the surface, you can make more informed and personalized decisions about the next steps.
