You want to feel better.
It's that simple.

You want to have more energy.
You want to sleep through the night.
You want to fit into your clothes.
You want your brain to be as sharp as it used to be.

And now that HRT has finally returned as a viable treatment option, that's where you start.
You are hopeful.

Because everyone is telling you that HRT is the BEST way to treat your symptoms and to protect your bones, brain and heart as you age.
Some people may even make you feel bad for NOT taking HRT.

But the truth is that you tried it and it hasn't been the miracle cure everyone claimed it would be.
You feel abit better, but not as amazing as you had hoped.
Plus now there are new symptoms and new things you are dealing with.

Or you may have decided that don't want to go down the HRT path right now.
You know that there is so much you can do first to support your health. You know that being proactive and engaged in your health journey is a choice and you want to understand what's going on in your body.

You just need some help to put all pieces together, to figure out what is right for you without the trial and error, to get the support you really need to make the right changes.

That's exactly what I do when I work with my clients.
Everything I do is personalised to meet you where you are on your menopause journey and takes into account your specific situation.

My aim when I work with you - it's very simple..... to get your hormones back into balance, to treat your symptoms, to get you to feel amazing, and to set you up for a fabulous post-menopause so you have to strategies for healthy aging!!

If you know this is what you have been missing then let's hop on a call!

There is no shortage of information about menopause available.
Books.
Podcasts.
Social media.
Talk Shows.
Menopause Influencers.

Yet practitioners reach out to me the whole time, telling me they don't feel confident supporting their midlife clients.

That's because information alone doesn't tell how to understand or support the woman sitting opposite you.
It doesn't help you translate the generic knowledge into meaningful and relevant implementation that actually makes a difference to your client.

That's why Aviva Serenge and I have created a 4-part Menopause-Informed NLP Training.
https://jacquelinerosewomenshealth.thrivecart.com/mitnlp/

The Menopause-Informed NLP Training provides a holistic framework for understanding how menopause can influence a woman's emotional wellbeing, cognition, behaviour, identity and relationships and implementing NLP skills.

In this live training you'll learn:
✔ The science of menopause and hormonal change.

✔ How menopause can influence behaviour, stress, emotions, mental health, identity, relationships and decision-making.

✔ NLP tools for understanding values, identity and belief shifts in midlife.

✔ Practical NLP techniques that can be immediately integrated into your existing work

✔ How to create deeper client breakthroughs through a menopause-informed lens

📌This is not about learning another modality.
It's about enhancing the skills you already have and becoming more effective with the women you already serve.

Dates: 30.6 / 7.7/ 14.7/ 21.7
Recordings of each session will be available, but live attendance is required.

Time: 19:00- 22:00 IST

There are some conversations that say with you.
That change the way you think about a topic.
This week's episode with Angela Griffith is one of those conversations.

We are talking about s*x, but not in any way that you have heard it talked about before!
This conversation is open, enlightening, thought provoking and will change the way you think about s*x within your intimate relationship.

Just a note: This is definitely a conversation you want to listen to first without your daughter!!

A lot of integrative menopause talk can get very overwhelming.

Take these supplements, especially the most recent "must have".
Do this exercise regime.... every day.
Make sure you eat ### grams of protein per body weight (I particularly love this one!).
Sleep, sleep, sleep.... and don't stress about it, but make sure you are getting at least xx hours of good quality sleep.
And don't forget to journal - out in the forest if possible!

The list goes on and on.

For midlife women who are juggling so much already, who are probably also experiencing some symptoms especially if that includes brain fog, low energy, insomnia, and low motivation to do anything, the long list of MUST DOs will just add to the overwhelm, the guilt and shame.

When I work with my clients and in my Menopause Informed Training Program I am always talking about seeing the woman sitting in front of you.

That means sometimes throwing out 90% of the things you *know* she should be doing and making it as easy and simple as possible.

I know there is NO POINT making her feel more stressed.
It will just make her feel worse about herself, exaccerbate her symptoms and she probably won't be motivated to do anything.

My approach is always - easy, practical changes with the BIGGEST impact at the beginning.

And if you actually listen to your client, listen to what she is experiencing, listen to what her biggest challenges are and ask the right questions, the answers will be very obvious. What is easy for her to change or implement.

What makes the most sense for her, given her family situation and lifestyle.
What is going to make her feel better and give her motivation to continue.

This is exactly what I focus on in my Menopause Informed Training Program for Practitioners.

It's not just knowing about menopause, its about understanding how to apply that information and knowledge to the woman sitting in front of you!

If you are working with women 40+ and you realise that you can't avoid talking about menopause anymore, I would love for you to join me to become a Menopause Informed Practitioner.

Learn how integrate a menopause perspective, language and tools into you existing client work.
Enrollment is NOW open for the next cohort!

In July 2024, The Lancet published their updated report on "Dementia prevention, intervention, and care".
The report lists 14 risk factors for dementia.
YES 14!!!

They include:
Vision loss and high cholesterol (newly added), less education, head injury, physical inactivity, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, hearing loss, depression, infrequent social contact, and air pollution.

Advice given is that by modifying these 14 risk factors we can prevent or delay nearly half of dementia cases.

The report also lists specific actions to reduce dementia risk across our life course. These are especially insightful and highly implementable - on a personal and national level.

However, there are TWO things I want you to pay attention to in this very comprehensive report.
1. Hormones, hormonal fluctutations, menopause and a gendered approach is not taken into consideration in the report. There is no division of the data between the genders and no gender-specific risk factors or recommendations.

Only ONE paragraph states:
"Biological s*x, hormonal exposure, and societal roles are all potentially important in influencing risk of dementia and its expression in late life. Findings about the effect of biological s*x on risk of dementia are inconsistent. Women have higher age-adjusted dementia incidence rates than men in some but not all countries."

This is a massive omission in a very serious report and reinforces inherent gender bias and lack of female-centric health understanding and focus.

2. We are bombarded with the narrative today that eostrogen decline is the reason for the high rates of dementia in older women.

Whilst I want to acknowledge that eostrogen and brain/cognitive function are highly related, we have a list of 14 OTHER risk factors.

It is way too simplistic to point the finger at eostrogen alone - and actually scientifically and biologically NOT the full story.
👉We have to question WHY menopause experts and influencers have jumped on this narrative.
👉Who is fueling this approach?
👉And have these people actually read the research out there or are they just vying for click-bate engagement?

Yes, eostrogen IS a very important piece of the women's health puzzle, but we have to demand that our "experts" are intellectually and morally honest about what is going on.

And it is OK to say - the science is still being explored, or research is still revealing things, or even I am not sure yet!!

Can you imagine how you would trust your practitioner if they were actually honest with you and engaged you in a real conversation of the science?!?!

When we focus the menopause conversation on symptom checklists alone, we are missing the whole point of what is really going on.
We need to be asking different questions.
We need to understand what our symptoms are telling us.

If you have been feeling that something more profound is going on, then you are in the right place!!

I love nothing more than learning about how menopause is experienced by women and sharing the role I play in supporting women on that journey.
When you combine that with some Yoga practice you have a very happy and fulfilled me 😌
So yesterday was the perfect day for me to dive deep into the latest research, the latest menopause topics being discussed, interact with other women working in this space, combined with Yoga practice and a holistic perspective.

Here are a couple of things that I came away:
1. There is no question in my mind that appropriate yoga practice with a teacher who understands women’s bodies, women’s health and Menopause is one of the best ways to support your body in midlife and beyond.

2. Too many in the Menopause space are still not asking the right questions!!

3. Women are experiencing symptoms. That is the reality. However, when the focus of Menopause is only looking at treating the symptoms and not seeing a larger picture, we are missing a big piece of puzzle of what menopause is really all about.

4. Menopause is part of a woman’s life cycle. We have to see in context of a larger longevity and aging conversation and not just in isolation as a disease to be fixed.

5. There is amazing research going on in all areas of Menopause, women’s health and aging. We are going to be learning a lot about how our body works over the next few years. The research and Information we have available today is just a tip of the iceberg.

I am excited about all the women I get to support….. especially those women who are looking for something more, who want to go deeper, who want to move beyond just a “symptoms” conversation, who are ready to step up and take control of their lives!

I am here for you 😊🌸

Today I am talking to those women who thought HRT would be the magic bullet to feeling like their 35 year-old self.
To all those women who were sold on the “HRT is going to fix all your symptoms” story.
To those women who had certain expectations when they went on HRT and now stuck not knowing what to do next!
This is for you……

One of the things I feel quite passionate about is banishing the word "midlife crisis" from our lexicon.
I think it's quite clear that this word reflects a total mis-understanding of what women really go through in midlife and the role that peri-menopause and menopause play during these years.

I talk about all of this with my latest guest Gibb on the Things I want my Daughters to Know podcast.
We explore midlife and menopause as a profound opportunity for reinvention, rather than a breakdown and decline.

We talk about what really happens during this stage of life, the shedding of roles, identities, and expectations and how menopause can act as a catalyst for becoming more authentic, more self-aware, and more aligned than ever before.
