This World Environment Day, one question worth asking in packaging: what can you show — not just pledge?

A few things are already running at Aran:

🔹 Energy - Our European plant runs on renewable electricity. On-site solar covers ~17% of demand; the balance comes from certified renewable supply.

🔹 Recycling - Production and post-use plastic is turned into pallets with our partner Roded and put back to work across our sites and customers. A closed loop, already in use, not a 2030 target.

🔹 Materials - MonoFlex, our mono-material PE bag-in-box, is built to be recycled in existing PE streams. It earned a Gold Award in "Packaging that Saves Food" at the 2026 WorldStar Awards (WPO).

🔹 PFAS - Independent testing (well-known German lab) found total fluorine below the limit of quantification (< 10 ppm) on our aseptic bags , well under the 50 ppm PPWR limit taking effect this August.

None of this is the finish line.

But it's in place and measurable today, which, on a day built around pledges, is the part that counts.

Remember when milk arrived on doorsteps in glass bottles?

It's a nostalgic image, but today's dairy supply chain looks nothing like it.

Milk now moves in high volumes, across long distances, and under tight food safety and regulatory requirements.

Packaging has had to keep pace.

This World Milk Day, Aran takes stock of the work behind that shift - flexible, aseptic, and durable packaging for large-scale and institutional dairy in the 10+ liter range.

A few areas where it matters:

🧊 Fresh and recyclable: mono-material PE bags for refrigerated fresh milk - recyclable in standard PE streams today, not "in the future."

🌎 Aseptic and long-distance: mono-PE high-barrier structures with minimal EVOH content, supporting extended shelf life without compromising recyclability.

⚙️ Dispenser integration: bags engineered around the customer's existing dispensing system, fitment, film thickness, seal geometry, abuse resistance, not the other way around.

This week we hosted Mr. Le Thai Hoa - Deputy Director General, Counsellor, and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Tel Aviv - at our Nachshon facility.

Vietnam is among Asia's largest producers of tropical fruit concentrates, coconut water, and processed dairy.

These products need to survive weeks of ocean transit, at tropical temperatures, without losing color, flavor, or microbial integrity.

That's the problem aseptic bag-in-box solves: high-barrier multilayer film, sterile fill, shelf life measured in months at ambient temperature - no cold chain required.

The bigger shift is who now drives the technical agenda.

Southeast Asian producers are no longer adopting packaging formats set in Europe or North America. They're specifying requirements that reflect their categories, their climates, and their routes to market.

That's why our work in Asia has been growing - directly with regional producers, on the engineering problems specific to their products.

This appointment reflects the continued development of our European organization and our commitment to strengthening leadership across key regions as part of our global strategy.

Roberto brings extensive international leadership experience in industrial environments, with a strong focus on operational excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.
