Surface rendering provides precise intraoperative 3D volume images and offers an additional option for implant and position control in complex craniomaxillofacial surgery. A larger field of view enables the visualization of the entire skull or both orbital floors in a single scan, supporting symmetry verification of reconstructed anatomy. הורים רבים שמעשנים במרפסת, ליד חלון פתוח או מחוץ לבית בטוחים שהם מצליחים להגן על הילדים שלהם מפני נזקי העישון. מחקר חדש של סורוקה מנפץ את האשליה הזו ומגלה כי שאריות העשן שנספגות בבגדים ובשיער של ההורה, מגיעות בסופו של דבר לתוך הבית ופוגעות ישירות באיכות השינה של הילדים.

על פי המחקר, שפורסם בכתב העת המדעי Scientific Reports, ילדים להורים מעשנים ישנים פחות טוב, מתעוררים יותר במהלך הלילה ומבלים פחות זמן בשינה עמוקה ואיכותית.

את המחקר הובילו פרופ' אריאל טרסיוק, מנהל היחידה להפרעות שינה בסורוקה וחוקר באוניברסיטת בן-גוריון, ופרופ' אביב גולדברט, מנהל מחלקת ילדים ב' בבי"ח סבן לילדים בסורוקה ומומחה ברפואת ריאות בילדים.

לדברי פרופ' טרסיוק, "עישון בחדר אחר או ליד חלון פתוח פשוט אינו מספק הגנה מלאה. גם כשהורים משוכנעים שהם מעשנים בזהירות, החלקיקים המזיקים חודרים לתוך הבית ומשפיעים על בריאות הילדים".

At the Rennes University Hospital, more than 2,000 vascular surgeries are performed every year – many of them supported by image fusion.
Prof. Adrien Kaladji combines Therenva’s and with a Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition CMOSline C-arm to fuse 3D CT planning data with live 2D fluoroscopy in the OR. The preopertive planning with marked aneurysms, stenoses and side branches, helps him to reduce contrast usage, X-ray dose and the need to "impriovise" during FEVAR and EVAR procedures
