Today, we, the Israeli First Aid team, remember the victims of October 7th, 2023. As a first aid supplier, we would like to focus on and share with you the story of Amit Mann, a 22-year-old paramedic with Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service. Amit was the paramedic on call in Kibbutz Be’eri. On the morning of Oct 7th she rushed through the rocket sirens to the kibbutz clinic. Amit remained there for hours, treating the wounded despite the danger around her. As the Hamas terrorists closed in, she continued caring for others until she herself was shot. In one of her final phone calls to her mother, Amit said: “Mom, they shot me in the leg. I’m not getting out of here. I love you all. Mom, forgive me for everything. I love you.”… 💔
Through Amit’s story, we remember the courage, compassion, and commitment to saving lives shown by so many medical personnel that day, who risked their lives while confronting unimaginable scenes and extraordinary danger. May her story continue to be told, and may all the victims of October 7 continue to be remembered.
