This is what awareness in practice looks like! 💙✨

We recently concluded an internship program with the students of the Department of Social work at Aligarh Muslim University. Given the high prevalence of Diabetes in India, the program was focused on training the students to run health awareness drives at the grassroots and in their own communities.

The goal? More awareness to enable timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment. ✨

Towards the end of the program, our project lead Madiha gave the students a simple task — create a short and simple reel to demonstrate all that you have learned during the internship program. And here’s what they made!👆🏻

Some people leave an impact far greater than the time they spend on this earth. Their voice lives on in the lives they touch, in the barriers they help break and the ideas they inspire.

Bastian Hauck was one of those people. He believed deeply in the idea that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves.

At The Diabesties Foundation, we were fortunate to experience that spirit firsthand. Bastian was an unwavering supporter of our work, always encouraging, always amplifying our reach and the voices of people living with diabetes across the globe. Through the program, he ensured that people living with diabetes aren’t just spoken about, but engaged with. And the magnitude of what that access enabled can’t be put in words.

Thank you, Bastian, for everything. 🙏🏼

We continue to let your light shine, always. ✨

Rest in power. 🦢💙

People with Type 1 Diabetes often carry more than insulin, devices, and hypo treats. We also carry assumptions, unwanted advice and the weight of “Log kya kahenge?”

And that’s what we will talk about this Thursday, in a session meant to challenge stereotypes, build confidence, and learn how to rise above stigma. Join us to replace judgment with understanding, myths with facts, and stigma with strength. 💙

Words matter. 💙

A diagnosis is something a person lives with, not who they are.

So maybe skip “patient” and go for something a little more human, a little more fun, and a lot more empowering. 😉

What’s the best title on the list? We’d pick Diabesties every time. 😎

T1D burnout is so real 😵‍💫

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is stop making diabetes the center of your entire day for a moment. 💙

Go paint. Dance badly. Listen to loud music. Touch some grass.
Just don’t forget the insulin bestie 🚨

And if your mind still feels “too full,” maybe it’s time to talk it out 🫂
Our FREE Back 2 Basics diabetes counselling sessions are always open for you link in bio 💙

High blood sugar affects your mind too! It can cause:

💭brain fog
🥴exhaustion
😩irritability
💭anxiety
😴feeling disconnected from yourself

When people with Type 1 Diabetes take insulin to bring their blood sugar in range, it also helps bring back clarity, energy and the ability to feel like yourself again! ✨💙

This International Day of Action for Women’s Health, let’s remind the women in our lives that their health matters too. Women are more prone to diabetes and several autoimmune conditions, making awareness, early support, and open conversations more important than ever. 💙

Whether it’s your school, workplace, college, community, or friend circle, change begins with conversations that make her feel seen, informed, and supported.

On World Thyroid Day, here’s a reminder that thyroid health deserves attention too especially for those living with Type 1 Diabetes, since both are autoimmune conditions.

Symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, sudden weight changes, feeling too cold or restless can often be overlooked, but regular thyroid check-ups can help catch issues early. ✨

Listen to your body, stay aware, and don’t skip your yearly thyroid test. 💙

Let’s face it: we all love the tech, love the safety, but we don’t always love the CGM alerts interrupting our thoughts 😅

T1D tech can be life-changing, but burnout is real too. Taking a break safely can look like this:

🚨Adjust your alert settings with your diabetes educators or doctor,

🫂Share your data with someone you trust,

🩸or simply give yourself a few easy days by switching to finger pricks, so that you are not staring at a graph constantly.

And if you’re still overwhelmed, scheduled a FREE Back 2 Basics diabetes counselling session with us, from the link in our bio 💙
