οƒ˜ Children are at increased risk of lead poisoning (caused by paint
eating), worm infestations (mud eating), iron deficiency anemia,
etc.
οƒ˜ Deficiencies of iron, vitamin D,calcium, and zinc need to be excluded, or even a trial of these medications may be given.
οƒ˜ Behavioral and psychological assessment should also be done.
