Stuttering=Stammering
ο Speech Fluency Disorder including Repetitions/Interruptions/Prolongations/Insertions.
ο Not have any correlation with the ntelligence of the child.
ο Most Commonly ,its developmental and start between 2-5 years of age.
ο Children in whom stuttering persists more than a year or beyond 6 years
of age are at risk of persistence of stuttering in later life too
ο More than 80% of children with stuttering show remarkable improvement with timely and correct intervention in the form of speech and behavior
therapy.
ο Medications are available and known to help stuttering, but they are never the first line of treatment and are reserved for selected patients.
