THE CHAMELEON WHO TRIES TO ROAR

In the vast sun-kissed plains of Luwanda, every creature knew their role—but none commanded more awe than Baruti, the lion king. His golden mane danced with light, and his mighty roar rolled over the hills like thunder. Birds hushed mid-song when he passed. Even the wind seemed to listen.

Watching from the lower branches was Nuru, a chameleon of shifting colors and quiet spirit.

Nuru was small. He didn’t thunder, or shine, or lead. No tales were told of him. No creatures cleared a path when he moved. But in his heart burned a silent wish: to be more—seen, heard, remembered.

“I will become like Baruti,” Nuru vowed one morning, his eyes gleaming with determination.

He tried to roar, but his squeak sent monkeys into fits of laughter.
He painted himself in golden hues, but was mistaken for a withering leaf.
He strutted across the plains like a king—until a hawk dove at him, thinking him a bug.

Still, Nuru didn’t give up.

One day, when Baruti was away, Nuru crept up to the lion’s rock. He stood tall, puffed out his chest, and gazed across the land.

But Baruti returned.

The animals gathered. Whispers stirred. Would the lion punish the small one?

Baruti stepped forward, his eyes soft, his voice deep.

“What brings you here, little one?”

“I wanted to be like you,” Nuru admitted, trembling.

Baruti looked long at Nuru, then knelt so their eyes met.

“Do you know what makes a king?” he asked. “Not the roar. Not the mane. But being fully, fearlessly yourself. You change with the world around you. You see what others miss. You were never meant to roar—you were meant to shimmer.”

Nuru blinked.

Then, slowly, his skin rippled—emerald, copper, sapphire. Gasps rose from the crowd. Even Baruti smiled wide.

From that day on, Nuru walked tall—not in a lion’s shadow, but in his own radiant light.

Three Real-Life Lessons

1. You don’t need a roar to be heard—your truth speaks louder.

2. Imitating others hides your light—shine in your own colors.

3. True strength is being proud of who you are, not who you wish to be.

HOW TO BE ALWAYS HAPPY IN LIFE.
Advice from A Wise Person

1. Always remember that there is nobody on this earth that does not have problems. You are not the only one that has problems.

2. Challenges is part of life. It is only a dead man that has no challenges.

3. There is no problem that has no solution. There are solutions to the pains you are passing through.

4. The way you picture yourself in your mind can affect your happiness. Picture yourself as a valuable and beautiful person. Avoid low self esteem and inferiority complex.

5. Do not mind about what people say about you. Some people are sadists. They can just say something's just to make you feel sad.

6. Make friends with reasonable people who make you happy. Do not make friends with people who make jest of you or laugh at you over your challenges.

7. At your leisure time, keep yourself busy with your favorite hobbies like reading , Learning, etc.

8. Do not allow anyone to intimidate you with money and material things. A poor man today can become rich tomorrow. Change is constant.

9. No matter what you are passing through today, do not give up. As long as there is life, there is hope. Never stop trying. Give it one more time.

10. Be very prayerful. Pray without ceasing. Prayer is a catalyst that can speed up your blessings to come to you on time.

11. Be courageous to go for what you want. Life is all about risk. If you don't take a risk, you will not get the desires of your heart.

People who get excited about sunrises, sunsets, a sky full of stars, full moons, deep connections and heart to heart conversations are my type of people. (Unknown)

Every time I look at the sky with its ever-changing colors, clouds, and celestial wonders, I get overwhelmed by its grandeur and its greatness or beauty which leads me to a deeper appreciation of the world around us.!
I think the sky keeps reminding us of the limitless possibilities that await and the beauty that surrounds us. ❤☀

*'Prepare your children for the road'*

An avid Gardner, saw a small butterfly laying a few eggs in one of the pots in his garden.
Since that day he looked at the egg with ever growing curiosity and eagerness.

The egg started to move and shake a little & the gardener was excited to see a new life coming up right in front of his eyes & spent hours watching the egg which started to expand & develop cracks.

A tiny head & antennae started to come out ever so slowly & the man's excitement knew no bounds. He got his magnifying glasses & sat to watch the life & body of a pupa coming out.

He saw the struggle of the tender pupa & couldn't resist his urge to help.

He went & got tender forceps to help the egg break, a nip here, a nip there to help the struggling life.
And Lol,
The pupa was out & the man was ecstatic!

He waited now each day for the pupa to grow & transform to a beautiful butterfly,
but Alas that never happened.
The larvae pupa had a oversized head & kept crawling along in the pot for a few weeks & died!

Depressed the man went to his botanist friend & asked the reason.
His friend told him, the struggle to break out of the egg helps the larvae to send blood to its wings, and the head push helps the head to remain small so that the tender wings can support it through its 4 week life cycle.

In his eagerness to help, the man destroyed a beautiful life!

Struggles help all of us, that's why a wee bit of effort goes a long way to develop our strength to face life's difficulties!

As parents, we sometimes go too far trying to help & protect our kids from life's harsh realities & disappointments.
We don't want our kids to struggle like we did.

But Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Dan Kindlon says that over-protected children are more likely to struggle in relationships & with challenges. We're sending our kids the message that they're not capable of helping themselves.

My favorite parenting motto has always been, “Prepare the child for the road, not the road for the child.”

Yet even so, it’s hard not to be a 'Snowplow Parent' - It’s hard not to clear every obstacle in our children’s path so they can be happy now – getting what they want, when they want it.

But when we clear the road for a child, we make their life too easy.
We don’t allow them to build life-coping skills they’ll need down the road to handle life’s hard realities.

The way to do it is like the farmer who asked his child to work every day at the farm.
His Friend said to him,
"You do not have to make your son work so hard. The crop would grow just as
good."
The farmer replied, "I’m not cultivating my crops, but my child."
The father who does not teach his children their duties is as guilty as the children who neglect them.

It’s hard to admit this, but part of a parent’s job is to help our kids not need us.

Most of all, I hope I can love my kids enough to not make their life too easy. It’s a tall order for any parent whose heart breaks whenever their child is unhappy, but one we must all work toward if we want our kids to reach their full potential as healthy and well-adjusted adults.

Lets not overprotect our children,
Today, as we celebrate Children's Day, Let's prepare our children for the road & stay Blessed forever!

A father saw that his 11-year-old son was crying silently. He asked him.

"What's the matter, son?"

The young boy replied.
"My rich classmates mocked, called me son of a gardener. They said that my father lives only on the money he earns from watering and feeding plants for people"

The father paused for a moment, then said.

"Come with me son, let's plant some flowers. It might cheer you up"

He held his hand and walked him to the garden, then he took out some flower seeds, and said.

"Let's carry out an experiment. We will plant two flowers seperately. I will care for one, and you will care for the other. I will water mine with clean water from the lake but you will water yours with dirty water from the pond. We shall see the outcome in the weeks to come"

The son was delighted as he joined his father in planting the flowers. It took them some days to finally germinate the flower seeds. They cared for them respectively and watched them grow.

Later on, the father brought his son to the garden, and said to him.

"Look at the two flowers and tell me your observation"

The boy responded.
"My flower looks better and healthier than yours. How is that even possible when your water is cleaner?"

The father smiled, then said.

"That's because dirty water doesn't stop a plant from growing, rather it serves as organic fertilizer to help it flourish.
You see son, there are some people who put you down in life, mock your dreams, and throw dirt on you.
Always remember that there's nothing wrong with you, it is their ego they have to satisfy.

So, don't let the harsh words from people affect you, instead, let it encourage you into being a better person. And doing so, you will be like the plant and will flourish even in the midst of dirt like negativity and harsh words.
