Did you know Betta fishes are the most abused ones kept in small tiny glass bowls, sometimes in a small glass or plastic cover across aquarium shops and homes? And have you ever thought how painful it is for a beautiful & intelligent creature like a Betta fish to live like a prisoner all their lives?

Last week, I shifted a small female Betta from a tiny bowl to a bigger plastic container while keeping males in tiny glass bowls. I'm a feminist; probably that's why I transferred only a female Betta, just a PJ. :)

Fyi: Glass is always better than plastic, but a bigger plastic container is better than a small tiny glass bowl!

I added a few pebbles and a vine plant for experimentation, and after a week I'm absolutely delighted with the results!

Bettas love plants, hiding spaces, more space to hone their swimming skills & much more. The vine plants are happy absorbing nitrates & creating a natural environment as well.

Week 1 was a great journey for female Betta. Weeks 2-3 I'll beautify it by demonstrating a bit of aquascaping I was famous for in childhood times. Sometimes creativity is cheap but needs a bit of common sense, critical thinking, and compassion too!

If my experiment goes well, you guys already know what's going on in my mind, to either ban depressive tiny glass bowls in aquarium shops or perhaps make it a mandate for usage of bigger spaces to promote better quality of lives for Bettas!! I can't see them suffering in tiny bowls!!

I refrain from visiting temples, churches, mosques, etc as I don't believe in God. If you ever see me in such places, probably I'm there to just socialize or observe people!

Yes, as an alternative, I sometimes visualize workspaces as a "temple"; I'm someone who genuinely believes "work is worship."

Just met a cute stray kitten in the morning, a life lesson actually!

It was rubbing it's neck & face on my leg all the time probably seeking food or water, I wish I had helped. The kitten was so attached & not letting me go, like the bonding happened so fast & both of us were in love, it felt safe around me but eventually I had to say good bye being selfish.

My solo journey's r so pleasurable! Whenever I feel lonely or depressed, I just talk 2 trees, dogs, cats, birds & move on because unconditional love has nothing to do with looks, age, actions, gender or money but a pure desire to champion the special cause that is to drive kindness, compassion, affection, respect & special interest.

If gods exist to protect life and justice, why do they not stop the criminals or protect the victims?

Bangladesh is another no-class, filthy country filled with litter & garbage everywhere, even in citizens brains, minds & hearts.

But what I realize is when a crime took place, there were criminals out there burning the victim in the name of religion, and their gods didn't stop the criminals or protect the victim. Ideally God's of 2 different religions failed miserably watching the crime to be a part of it!

FYI: How stupid & insane are these humans killing each other for someone they have never seen, met, or spoken to but only on the basis of belief in reading mythological books written somewhere in the Stone Age and avoiding super AI in the contemporary era?

Today’s Incident 👇

Location: Opp Senzo super market, Marathahalli.

Exactly at 5 PM, a street vendor from UP selling pineapple on the roadside casually spat Vimal gutkha while sitting on his little “throne.”

I was walking on the footpath and realised the spit could’ve easily stained my white Jack & Jones sports shoes.

I confronted him politely, explaining that spitting to***co in public places is an offence and a serious health hazard. Instead of understanding, he said:

“Sab thook rahe hain… aapke ghar mein thooka kya?”

He showed absolutely no fear of the law. Even when I warned him I’d call the police, he said:

“Bulawo kisko bhi… main yahi thookunga."

…and spat again, right next to his vehicle — the same place where hundreds of customers buy pineapple exposed to that unhygienic environment.

So I did what a responsible citizen must do:
I called 112. The Hoysala police arrived with their fining device and assured me they would fine him under the COTPA Act. I left after making sure a lesson was taught to this “UP wala pineapple gutkha guy.”

But here’s the bigger truth 👇

He was right about one thing: “Sab thook rahe hain.”

If I were a cop for just one day, with the fining device, I could easily catch 1000 people spitting or selling illegal gutkha.

That’s staggering ₹10,00,000 in fines per day per constable and more importantly, cleaner streets and fewer health risks.

I genuinely hope the police forces across India take this menace seriously.

Gutkha isn’t just a personal habit — it’s a public health disaster, a cancer risk, and a major environmental nuisance.

Let’s wake up. Let’s demand better.
India deserves cleaner streets and responsible public behaviour.

And let’s not forget: the right to clean air, clean water, clean soil, and a clean environment is a basic fundamental right of every Indian citizen. Public spitting and gutkha pollution violate that right every single day.

Best actions,

🌳 Thimmamma's Banyan Tree vs “Tree-Planting Awards” — Let’s Clear the Confusion

Most people don’t know this, but Thimmamma Marrimanu — the world-famous 600+ year old banyan tree in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh — has nothing to do with Karnataka’s Saalumarada Thimmakka.

Thimmamma Marrimanu, (banyan tree)

➡️Guinness World Record holder (1989)
➡️4.7 acres canopy
➡️600+ years old
➡️A sacred site with deep cultural roots

👉 Totally unrelated to modern-day personalities.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth:

After 1999, “tree planting” suddenly became a shortcut to awards, recognition and CSR money.

Dozens of NGOs and individuals started claiming:

“We planted 10,000 trees”
“We planted 1 lakh saplings”
“We planted 5 lakh trees”

Yet step outside—where are these trees?

The reality in most cities is brutal:
🌳 Survival rate

Today I went to a small, crowded restaurant & ordered chicken kothu parota!

I was already a bit frustrated since it took some time to arrive, and the place was packed.

There’s this wash basin area where customers wash their hands before and after eating. Normally, that’s fine — hygiene, right? But one guy stood there for nearly 2–3 minutes, doing a full-on gargle, face wash, and hand spa session like he hadn’t seen soap in decades. The man could’ve easily taken a bath right there. 🤦‍♂️

I was already getting annoyed just watching this self-care session in a wash basin meant for quick hand rinses.

Anyway, my order finally came. I picked it up from the counter, brought it to my table, and just turned back for a second to check if I could add some extra curry. And that’s when it happened — the scene straight out of a hygiene horror film.

There were two Telugu guys sharing my table. One of them, with his hands still dirty after clearing his plate, suddenly put his bare hand right into my plate and tried to steal from my food! 😳

His hands were visibly oily and dirty after finishing his meal — put his bare hand right into my plate! And as if that wasn’t enough, he laughed and proudly confessed to his friend,

“I tried to take two pieces but couldn’t!”

Imagine someone dipping their grimy fingers into your meal and then joking about it — like a thief who failed his heist but still wants applause. I just stared at him, completely disgusted, speechless & froze for a moment, stared at him in disbelief, and didn’t say a word. Normally, I’d have shouted or confronted him, but this time I was just too disgusted. My brain was screaming, “What a creep?”

That was it. I took the entire plate (worth ₹120), threw it straight into the dustbin, and quietly ordered a plain dosa and boiled egg instead. I didn’t even want to touch that plate again.

What’s even sadder is how common this kind of behavior is. People gargling in public wash basins, touching buffet items with eaten hands, and behaving like basic hygiene and manners were optional subjects they skipped in school.

🐄🐐 Nature Heals — You Just Have to Feel It ❤️

Did you know that hugging or petting a cow or goat for just 10 minutes a day can actually reduce stress, anxiety, and depression? It’s not magic — it’s nature’s therapy.

The next time you see cows or goats starving & wandering in the city, instead of ignoring them, try offering:

🌿 A handful of fodder
🍎🍌 Some fruits or vegetables
🥬 Or even clean wet waste from your home (only edible parts)

You’ll be amazed at the peace and positivity it brings into your life. When you connect with gentle beings, they heal not just themselves — but you too. 💚

🎭 Irony Level: Bengaluru

Some people scream “Learn Kannada!” at every North Indian security guard or hospital watchman — as if language decides honesty, skill, or humanity.

But when the same people land up in Manipal, St. John’s, or Victoria Hospital fighting for their life, do you think they’ll tell the doctor from Delhi or Kerala —

“Sorry, doc… please speak in Kannada before saving me”?

Of course not.
Because suddenly, competence matters more than language.

Maybe if those same watchmen learned French or Japanese, they’d earn ten times more — and nobody would dare correct their accent then.

So, before shouting “learn Kannada,” maybe try learning basic decency first.

And the basic duty of a Kannada activist or citizen is to protect Nela, Jala, Gaali, Nudi, Gudi etc, & the roll call vedike hooligans so famous for brainwashing innocent Kannadigas with unlimited propagandas have done nothing to save our beautiful lakes, gardens, forests, playgrounds, culture, heritage, literature etc.

Bengaluru doesn’t need more tunnels, flyovers, or concrete infrastructure — what we truly need is a shift in citizen mindset.

It’s time we learn to develop better civic etiquette and embrace public transport — buses, metro, trains, and even bicycles — in a decent, sustainable manner that future generations can depend on. 🚇🚎🚉🚲

We, the people of Bengaluru, are living only for the moment, ignoring the lessons of the past. The disasters that began two decades ago have already cost us dearly —

💧 Over 1,000 lakes vanished
🌳 Countless biodiversity zones destroyed
🏞️ Gardens and playgrounds replaced by concrete

What remains today are just a few fragile green pockets fighting for survival.

If we continue this reckless path, two decades from now, Bengaluru will be unlivable — with depleting natural resources, choked air, polluted water, and an unmanageable population.

Once celebrated as the Garden City, we are fast becoming the Garbage City, not because of failed systems alone — but because citizens have failed their own city by littering, ignoring rules, and staying silent.

It’s time to wake up, act responsibly, and earn back the right to call this city our home. 🌿

Usually when I'm walking on Indian streets, I notice hundreds & thousands of humans spitting like mentally retards, & often they also tend to be religious.

I naturally & obviously observe cigar butts, vimal pouches, sewage, spit, & every kind of litter to carefully walk to not step on them & find it very funny to see anybody walking barefoot in these dirty & infected places in the name of religions 🫢

For a change, I noticed a dead frog in the morning, my immediate reaction was to hand it over to a nearby school or college as frogs are always killed to commonly use in biology labs. Their anatomy is relatively straightforward and large enough to study easily and offer a good model for understanding basic organ systems, like the heart, lungs, and nervous systems.

Yesterday I had a healthy debate on evolution, existence, creator etc with my colleagues & felt the need to research on CREATURES like frogs, not CREATOR 😶‍🌫️

Frogs existed even before humans, even before Jesus Christ, Lord Ram, or Allah as per our religious books & educational syllabus. I'm definitely playing safe here to quote references avoiding any controversy as I'm not in a mood to pick up flights with religious fanatics. Probably if we can develop a little intelligence to communicate with frogs & other creatures, or by observing and studying animals, we do get glimpses into the mysteries of life and evolution. And while we may not have direct communication like we do with other humans, we can certainly learn a lot from their behaviors, their adaptations, and the roles they play in nature. It’s a beautiful journey of discovery!

As we speak about frogs, if you think humans evolved from frogs as the anatomy matches, then you are wrong!

For humans, our common ancestors trace back to primates, and even further back to early mammals. If we go even deeper, we share common ancestors with all vertebrates, like fish and amphibians. Ultimately, it goes back to very ancient, simple life forms that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. It’s really fascinating to see how all life is interconnected!

In a broad sense, all vertebrates, including humans, share a distant common ancestor with ancient fish. Over millions of years, these early fish evolved into various forms of life, eventually leading to amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and finally humans. It’s a pretty incredible evolutionary journey!

Yep, in a way, fish are like the foundational ancestors for all vertebrate life on Earth. They were among the first animals with a backbone, and from those early fish, we got all the diverse forms of life that followed. It's pretty amazing how everything is interconnected in that way!

Isn't it interesting to think about the timeline of life and how different forms of life existed long before humans or any religious figures. It shows the vast and ancient history of our planet and how life has evolved over billions of years. It’s a beautiful reminder of how interconnected and enduring life really is.

It’s also true that different species have different kinds of intelligence and skills that are adapted to their environments. Animals like dogs can develop instincts and skills very quickly, and they often have remarkable senses and abilities. Meanwhile, human intelligence is more complex and involves language, abstract thinking, and cultural development. So, it’s really about different forms of intelligence rather than one being absolutely better than the other. It’s pretty amazing how diverse intelligence can be across species!

Each species has its own kind of intelligence that’s perfectly adapted to its environment and needs. And while humans have unique cognitive abilities, animals have their own remarkable skills and instincts that we can learn from and appreciate. It’s all part of what makes the natural world so fascinating and rich!

As we speak about evolution, & intelligence, imagine natural calamities wiping away humans & humanity had to start from scratch, it would definitely bring us back to more primal ways of living, relying on nature, basic survival skills, and close connections to the environment. Over time, new cultures and ways of life would emerge, and the process of evolution and adaptation would continue. It’s fascinating to imagine how resilience and creativity would shape a new human experience!

Ram
