Some of the strongest relationships in our lives are built on a simple promise: I will be there.

That is what Raksha Bandhan makes me think about.

Protection is often understood as keeping someone safe from what could go wrong. But with time, I have come to see it differently. Sometimes, protection means giving someone the confidence to take a step forward. Sometimes, it means standing beside them when the outcome is uncertain. And sometimes, it means creating the right environment for them to grow independently.

I think the same principle applies to leadership and business.
A strong organisation is not built by protecting people from every challenge. It is built by giving people the trust, resources and responsibility to face those challenges.

That means creating teams where people can speak openly. Making decisions with long-term consequences in mind.

Developing leaders who can take ownership. And building systems that remain dependable even when circumstances change. The best relationships, whether personal or professional, are not about dependence. They are about creating enough trust for both people to become stronger. That is perhaps the most meaningful part of Raksha Bandhan for me. A bond should not limit someone's growth. It should give them the confidence to grow.

As leaders, we have a similar responsibility.

The people who work with us today will eventually become the people who lead tomorrow. Our role is to give them the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to get there.

This Raksha Bandhan, I am grateful for the relationships that have supported me, challenged my thinking and helped me become better along the way.

Strong bonds create confidence.

Confidence creates growth.

And growth creates a stronger future.

Happy Raksha Bandhan. 💛

What kind of India are we building for our children? 🇮🇳

As we celebrate the 80th Independence Day, there is one answer I believe matters deeply:
An India where children have the opportunity to grow up healthy.
That begins with prevention.

After more than 15 years in pediatric practice, over 2,00,000 consultations, 210+ publications and 10 books, I keep returning to the same principle:
Prevention is always cheaper, kinder and more effective than intervention that comes too late.
Early screening can identify problems before they become complicated.
Timely vaccination can prevent diseases that can have serious consequences.
Nutritional monitoring can identify deficiencies before they affect a child's development.
And informed parents can recognise warning signs early and seek appropriate medical care.
But prevention is not only about tests and vaccines.
It is also about listening.
A parent may notice a small change in behaviour, appetite, sleep or development long before it becomes obvious in a consultation. Giving families the space to describe those changes is an important part of good pediatric care.

India's first 80 years have been a story of progress.
The next generation deserves to inherit a country where health, awareness and prevention are part of that progress.
Let us build that future together.

Happy 80th Independence Day!

Vaccines work. The evidence isn't debatable. The science isn't ambiguous. This conversation should have been settled a long time ago.

Yet every week, I meet parents who delay doses, skip schedules, or decide to "wait and watch." Not because they don't care, but because 𝐮𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝.

My research on global vaccine hesitancy revealed something important. The core issue isn't access. It is trust. And trust doesn't grow from throwing statistics at worried parents. It builds through calm, consistent conversations that address real fears without dismissing them. https://journalwjbphs.com/content/global-patterns-vaccine-hesitancy-among-parents-challenges-and-opportunities-pediatricians

As featured in 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐍𝐈 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 on National Pediatrician Day, I shared a straightforward message: timely vaccination is still the single most impactful step a parent can take for their child's health.

Delaying a vaccine doesn't reduce risk. It extends the window of vulnerability during the most critical phase of a child's immune development.

Every skipped dose creates a gap. And in medicine, 𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭.

Baby skin is generally thinner and tends to lose moisture faster than adult skin.

Ingredients such as shea butter and sunflower oil can help nourish and soften, while vitamin B5, vitamin E, and panthenol are commonly used in moisturizers to support hydration and help maintain the developing skin barrier when used as part of a daily routine. 🌿✨
One such product available in the market with this combination of gentle ingredients is Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion. 🧴💙

Always consult a pediatric healthcare professional for guidance on baby‑care routines. 👶✨

From reduced focus to delayed development, the impact can be deeper than you think.

As a parent, here’s how you can take action:

🌇 Avoid outdoor play during peak pollution hours
🏠 Consider using indoor air purifiers
🧑‍⚖️ Speak up for cleaner community spaces
