The Hereditary Angioedema Society of India (HAESI) successfully hosted the Hereditary Angioedema India EXPERT MEETING 2025 on September 21, in Bangalore.
This landmark event brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, and policy stakeholders from across the country (especially from Centre of Excellence for rare diseases of the Government of India) to address the challenges and opportunities surrounding the care of Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) in India.
The meeting served as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, with the goal of strengthening the national response to HAE—a rare, potentially life-threatening genetic condition that continues to be underdiagnosed and undertreated in the country.
A key outcome of the meeting was the announcement of HEAL-India (HAE Expert physicians for Advocacy and Leadership – India), a strong advocacy and leadership group that will spearhead the development of updated National Guidelines for the Management of HAE in Indian settings.
It was an electrifying and deeply enriching discussion—marking a significant step forward for the HAE community in India.
