A sub-tarsal foreign body is a speck of dust or debris trapped under the eyelid (usually the upper lid). As you blink, the particle rubs against the cornea, causing pain, redness, watering, and a sharp gritty sensation. It may also cause vertical scratches (abrasions) on the cornea.

This is what happens if a foreign body is left in the eye....Patient presented with pain, tearing, redness and light sensitivity, for a week and on examination there was a foreign particle embedded on the cornea...

A corneal abrasion is a superficial scratch on the eye's surface, causing significant pain, redness, tearing, and sensitivity to light.

A posterior subcapsular cataract (PSC) is a cloudy patch that forms at the very back of the eye's crystalline lens, directly in the path of light. Because it develops at the eye's central "nodal point," even a tiny opacity can severely scatter light, typically causing your vision to worsen much faster than other types of cataracts.

Steroid-induced cataracts are opacities in the lens caused by long-term, high-dose corticosteroid use, typically presenting as posterior subcapsular cataracts (PSCs). They are a recognized complication of oral, topical, inhaled, or intravitreal steroids, developing when medication binds to lens proteins. Treatment usually involves lowering the dose, switching medications if possible, or performing standard cataract surgery.
