A sub-tarsal foreign body is a speck of dust or debris trapped under the eyelid (usually the upper lid). As you blink, the particle rubs against the cornea, causing pain, redness, watering, and a sharp gritty sensation. It may also cause vertical scratches (abrasions) on the cornea.
This is what happens if a foreign body is left in the eye....Patient presented with pain, tearing, redness and light sensitivity, for a week and on examination there was a foreign particle embedded on the cornea...
A corneal abrasion is a superficial scratch on the eye's surface, causing significant pain, redness, tearing, and sensitivity to light.
