So many people come to me saying, “I’ve been taking my iron supplement every single day, but my levels are still low.”
And the truth is… this is extremely common.
Iron deficiency is not always caused by eating too little iron.
In many cases, the real issue lies in the digestive system — the place where iron is actually absorbed.
If the gut is inflamed, imbalanced or not functioning well, the body simply cannot use the iron you give it, no matter how good the supplement is.
Low stomach acid, H. pylori infection, SIBO, gut dysbiosis, celiac disease, parasites, IBD — all of these conditions quietly affect absorption.
You may be eating well, you may be taking supplements consistently, but the iron never reaches your bloodstream because your gut is not able to absorb it.
This is why fixing iron deficiency is never just about increasing iron intake.
It’s about improving digestion, calming inflammation and restoring a healthy gut environment so that your body can finally use what you feed it.
If your iron or ferritin levels are not improving despite supplements, it may be time to look deeper.
Your gut might be asking for attention long before your blood reports show it.
If you want to understand your root cause and work on a personalised plan to improve iron, energy, stamina and overall health, feel free to DM me “IRON.”
Let’s help your body absorb better, not just consume more.
