Revered as a life-giving mother, the river Kaveri nourishes people, lands and communities across the South Indian states of Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
For generations, the Kodava community has gathered at Talakaveri (the source of the Kaveri) during Tula Sankramana to witness the momentous cycle of the Kaveri river bubbling up and gushing forth from the Brahmagiri hills, symbolising the birth of Mother Kaveri.
Devotees take a holy dip and offer their prayers, honoring the sacred water and seeking her blessings, celebrating a bond that is both spiritual and deeply rooted in nature.
May this sacred tradition remind us to celebrate, protect, and preserve our rivers, and nature itself.
Aashwasan wishes every Kodava a Happy Kaveri Sankramana!
