World Lung Cancer Day | Together Through Lung Cancer
Our lungs work tirelessly every day, taking nearly 20,000 breaths to supply oxygen throughout the body. Yet, we often take them for granted until symptoms appear.
This World Lung Cancer Day, Dr. Arjun S. Kashyap, Senior Consultant – Interventional Pulmonology, shares important insights on lung cancer, including common warning signs, the importance of early detection, who may benefit from lung cancer screening, and how investigations such as Low-Dose CT (LDCT) and, when indicated, biopsy can help achieve an accurate and timely diagnosis.
If you experience a persistent cough, unexplained weight loss, coughing up blood, chest pain, or breathlessness, do not ignore these symptoms. Seek medical advice promptly.
This year's theme, "Together Through Lung Cancer," reminds us that no one has to face lung cancer alone. Through awareness, timely medical evaluation, appropriate screening for eligible individuals, early diagnosis, and compassionate care, we can improve outcomes and support every patient on their journey.
