Adesh University, Bathinda, the flagship academic and research endeavor of Adesh Foundation, a pioneer in health care, medical and technical education came into existence in the State of Punjab in July 2012 by Act no. 6 of 2012 of Government of Punjab, notified under Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary) dated July 10, 2012 under Punjab Private Universities policy 2010. esh Foundation was established in 1995 vide Registration No. 618 of 1995-1996 (Registered under Societies' Registration Act XXI, 1860) in Sri Muktsar Sahib, an underdeveloped area of Southern Punjab, with aim and objectives of serving humanity in the sphere of health care as well as medical, paramedical and technical education. Adesh Foundation started its journey in the field of professional education and health care with the establishment of Adesh Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faridkot in the year 1996, to deliver various undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes in the field of technical education. The Foundation established its second degree level institution in the sacred memory of martyrs of Sri Muktsar Sahib under the name Bhai Maha Singh College of Engineering, Muktsar in the year 2002. This premier medical institution of Northern India with an annual intake capacity of 150 students in MBBS course is duly recognized by Medical council of India/Govt of India. The foundation further established College of Nursing, AIMSR, Bathinda and College of Physiotherapy, AIMSR, Bathinda in the year 2005. College of Pharmacy, AIMSR, Bathinda was established in the year 2006, while Adesh Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, Bathinda was established in the year 2007 to impart training in the field of Pharmacy. All these colleges are recognized/approved by respective regulatory councils / authorities. Adesh Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Bathinda was established in year 2008 to impart training in dental sciences, with the annual intake of 100 seats in BDS. The dental college is recognized by Dental Council of India/Government of India. The ADESH FOUNDATION has made a rapid progress and growth since its inception by introducing innovative and professional courses in medical sciences, allied health sciences, management and technical education. As the Foundation was identified as having potential of conducting and introducing programmes of research and innovations, a University by the name and style as ADESH UNIVERSITY was established under it’s fold in year 2012. The focus therefore is on the student who has chosen Adesh University, to develop as wholesome professional globally competitive and locally responsive; and for that we have set lofty institutional objectives as you shall perceive once you enter the portals of this University. The last few years have seen us working with a great sense of determination and commitment to make this campus develop as a mini town with all the facilities inside. We are well aware that this is going to be your home away from your own home for the next several years and it is vital that the campus provides an amicable and congenial environment, healthy for your growth and comfort. Although you are here primarily in pursuit of good education and qualification, yet, we believe that, you should have adequate opportunities for extracurricular activities, particularly cultural and sports. We encourage all such activities that will help you to develop an all round personality and become an excellent professional. At this juncture, it is important that you become aware of our expectations of you as well. As per institutional policy, it is mandatory for every student to ensure 75% attendance in theory and 80% attendance in the non theoretical aspects of every subject besides meeting the required standards set up for the internal assessment examinations. World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | 1st to 7th August | Community Outreach Activity 🌿

As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, a Community Health Awareness Talk was conducted on 6th August under the guidance of the Department of Community Medicine, Adesh University, at the slum area of Bhucho Mandi, Punjab.

The health talk focused on creating awareness among mothers regarding:
🤱 Breastfeeding techniques, proper positioning & attachment
🌱 Importance and benefits of exclusive breastfeeding
💡 Common myths and facts related to breastfeeding
❤️ Interactive discussion and counselling with mothers

The activity aimed to bridge the gap between healthcare knowledge and the community, encouraging informed choices and promoting healthier beginnings for every child.

The Department of Child Health Nursing, College of Nursing, AIMS&R, Adesh University, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week on 5th and 6th August 2026 under the theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works."
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jessie Metilda N., Principal, College of Nursing and Head, Department of Child Health Nursing, and was organized by Mrs. Susan Mathew, Professor; Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Professor; and Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Assistant Professor.
The celebration included a Quiz Competition, Interactive Discussion, and Poster Making Competition to promote awareness about the importance of breastfeeding. Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their knowledge and creativity. The poster competition was judged by Dr. Parmod Kumar Goyal, Principal, AIMS&R, and Dr. Davinder Singh Grewal, Chief Librarian, who appreciated the participants' efforts. Winners and participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their active involvement. The programme successfully reinforced awareness of breastfeeding and encouraged student participation in public health initiatives.

Under the able guidance of Dr Gurpreet Singh Gill, MS Admin, 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬, 𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐒𝐑, Bathinda, successfully celebrated 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 (𝟏–𝟕 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔), packed with education, creativity, and active involvement from our energetic MBBS students and Interns.

The week concluded on a powerful note on the final day with a vibrant Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the PG Residents in the paediatric department to raise community awareness about infant nutrition. A huge congratulations to all the organizers, faculty, and students for making World Breastfeeding Week 2026 a resounding success!

The faculty members and students of Adesh University enthusiastically participated in the live address by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, streamed live on YouTube on 2nd August 2026 at it's Auditorium.

As part of the programme, a Nukkad Natak (street play) highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a drug-free life was also organized. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Principals of the constituent colleges, faculty members, and a large number of students, who actively participated in promoting the message of a healthy, drug-free India.

QUIZFLIX PHYSIO 2026

The Department of Physiology, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR), Bathinda, organized QUIZFLIX Physio 2026 on 17 July 2026 for MBBS Phase I (Batch 2025). The event comprised two academic competitions—Process in Animation, in which students creatively enacted physiological processes, and the Physiology Quiz, designed as a pre-university examination rehearsal covering important physiological concepts, haematology, instruments, graphs, and clinically relevant topics.

Prior to the final event, two preliminary rounds were conducted. The Process in Animation preliminary round was held on 13 July 2026, and the best presentations qualified for the finals. The Haematology Quiz preliminary round was conducted on 16 July 2026, from which the top four teams advanced to the final round held on 17 July 2026.

The event was graced by Dr. Damor Robinson, Director and Professor, Department of Physiology, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Parmod Kumar Goyal, Principal, AIMSR; Dr. G. Palani Kumar, Principal, College of Physiotherapy; Dr Jessie Matilda, Principal, College of Nursing; Dr. D. S. Grewal, Principal, College of Library Sciences; Dr. Monika Gupta, Head, Department of Anatomy; Dr. Gesu Singla, Head, Department of Biochemistry; and other faculty members.

In the Physiology Quiz, Diya Handa, Payal, and Harsimran secured the first prize .The Process in Animation included the demonstrating the processes like journey of an oxygen molecule, mechanism of action of protein and steroid hormones, cardiac conducting system, sliding filament theory and urine formation. The first prize was secured by the group, Roll Nos. 25091 to 25105, who depicted reflex arc.

Appreciating the initiative, Dr. Damor Robinson lauded the Department of Physiology for promoting innovative, student-centred learning and encouraged the continued organization of such interactive academic activities. The programme concluded with the felicitation of the winners, participants, judges, and faculty members, followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sandeep Kular, Dean Academics, AIMSR, and Professor & Head, Department of Physiology.

ORS Week 2026

The Department of Child Health Nursing, College of Nursing, AIMS&R, Adesh University, successfully organized ORS Week on 27th and 28th July 2026 under the theme “ORS First: Every Child, Every Diarrhoea, Every Time.”

The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Jessie Metilda N., Head of the Department and Principal, College of Nursing, and coordinated by Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Professor and Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Assistant Professor.

The two-day programme featured engaging activities including a Quiz Competition, ORS Preparation Demonstration, and Topic-Based Group Discussions, aimed at strengthening students’ knowledge and practical skills in the prevention and management of diarrhoeal diseases.

The enthusiastic participation of students made the programme a meaningful learning experience, reinforcing the importance of timely and correct use of ORS in child health care.
