Awareness creates action, and early action can save lives.
On World Head and Neck Cancer Day, Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute united clinicians, survivors, healthcare professionals, and the community to strengthen awareness on the prevention and early detection of head and neck cancers.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. B. S. Srinath, Managing Trustee, Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation and Head of the Institution, highlighted the importance of making quality cancer care and awareness accessible to every community. Dr. (Col.) Deepak K. Mishra, Director, spoke about the power of early diagnosis, collaborative cancer care, and empowering people with the right knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Adding valuable clinical insights, Dr. Ghanashyam Mandal, Consultant – Head & Neck Surgical Oncology, and Dr. Vaibhav Singh, Oral Cancer Specialist, along with the Head & Neck Oncology team, educated attendees on recognising early warning signs, the importance of timely diagnosis, and the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and rehabilitation. Their session encouraged the public to remain vigilant and seek medical evaluation without delay if persistent symptoms arise.
The event was further enriched by inspiring stories from head and neck cancer survivors, reinforcing that early detection, timely treatment, and compassionate care can transform lives.
Together, let's continue building awareness, encouraging healthier choices, and supporting early detection for better cancer outcomes.
