Taking a few moments to focus on our health today can be an important step towards a healthier tomorrow.

As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Malapalayam Government School, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection services closer to the local community.

A total of 54 beneficiaries participated in the screening, including 2 men and 52 women.

The camp provided:

• 50 iBreast Examinations
• 52 Oral Examinations

The participation of 52 women highlights the importance of making breast cancer screening accessible within the community. Providing screening services closer to people can encourage women to prioritise their health and seek timely medical attention when needed.

Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes early and encourage timely medical consultation and follow-up.

As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Soonambedu PHC, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection services closer to the local community.

A total of 52 beneficiaries participated in the screening, including 15 men and 37 women.

The camp provided:

• 34 iBreast Examinations
• 51 Oral Examinations

Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes early and encourage timely medical consultation and follow-up.

Taking a few moments to focus on our health today can be an important step towards a healthier tomorrow.

As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Kaliyampoondi Community Hall, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection services closer to the local community.

A total of 60 beneficiaries participated in the screening, including 29 men and 31 women.

The camp provided:

• 31 iBreast Examinations
• 60 Oral Examinations
• 20 Pap Smear Tests

The screening identified 1 gynaecological screening finding requiring further medical evaluation and follow-up. This is a screening finding and does not by itself confirm a cancer diagnosis. Appropriate medical consultation and follow-up are important for further assessment.

On 8th September 2026, Project SHAKTHI brought cancer awareness to Sathyabama University, Semmanjeri.

Led by Dr. M. Banupriya and Dr. L. Manikandan, the session focused on cancer prevention, early detection, HPV vaccination, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

With over 100 beneficiaries participating, the session created an opportunity for students to learn, ask questions, and understand the importance of taking proactive steps towards their health.

On 3 October 2026, Kalpavriksham Trust, in collaboration with Global Cancer Concern India and Privaram Cancer Hospital, conducted a cancer awareness session for 40 nursing students at Community College, Alwarpet.

Led by Dr. Aparna, the session covered cancer prevention, breast and cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination, healthy diet and lifestyle, and the importance of the POCSO Act.

Kalpavriksham Trust, in collaboration with Privaram Cancer Hospital, conducted a Cancer Awareness Talk at SKPC Women’s College, Chennai, on 01-10-2026, reaching around 250 participants.

Dr. M. Banupriya spoke to the students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and excessive screen time, while highlighting the importance of healthy food, an active lifestyle and mindful everyday choices.

Empowering Young Minds Through Cancer Awareness

On 1 October 2026, Kalpavriksham Trust, in collaboration with Multivista and Privaram Cancer Hospital, conducted a Cancer Awareness Talk at Shasun Jain College, T. Nagar, Chennai.

Across two sessions, around 100 participants came together to learn about cancer prevention and early detection. Led by Dr. Aparna, the sessions covered cancer symptoms, diagnosis, screening tests, healthy lifestyle practices, dietary choices, and the importance of HPV vaccination in preventing certain cancers.

The sessions encouraged students to stay informed, recognise warning signs early, and take proactive steps towards a healthier future.
