How Does an Implant Like ProStop® Work in Flexible Flatfoot?

In flexible flatfoot, excessive subtalar motion can contribute to hindfoot eversion and medial arch collapse.

Biomechanical modeling showed:
1st metatarsal load: 10% → 24%
Talo-navicular moment: 3.4 → 11.9 N·m
(Normal → Flat Foot)

Subtalar arthroereisis limits excessive subtalar motion by placing an implant in the sinus tarsi, helping shift load toward a more balanced distribution.

That’s the biomechanical principle behind implants like ProStop®.

Avana collaborated with Arthrex to successfully host ArthroKnee 2026 in Mumbai, bringing together 300+ mid to senior arthroscopy surgeons from across India and around the world.

Two days of insightful sessions, case-based discussions, Re-Live Surgeries, Mini Battles, and specialised sessions and conversations around the latest advances in knee preservation and surgery.
