July was a quiet month for me.

I’ve been working on new formulas, building a steadier structure, both personally and for Lancemade, spending my long afternoons beside flowing water whenever I needed to recharge.

August feels lighter.
It puts me in the mood to create again.

You’ll notice a change in our hair oil. This new twist-top dispenser (swipe to see).

Easier to use. No leaks. A few of you asked, so we are fixing it.

Shall we make the switch?
(I never move without my circle.)

Leave your thoughts. Even a single word will guide me.♡

Wash day today 🚿 I kept my hair in braids for the last two days and found it makes my daily routine way easier.

I also cut my own bangs sometime ago. Not regretting so far. I like my oiled (preepoo) hair better with bangs. 💆🏽‍♀️ softens the overall look.

🌿 don't braid tightly after oiling.
🌼 friday-washdays gives you great smelling hair all weekend.

When's your wash day in a week? Have you been deep-oiling lately?

Happy, happy weekend! 🤍

This is my lunch today, but If I eat like this everyday, my shed rate can go up.

Why?

This plate lacks protein.

For regrowing hair at a faster than normal rate, next to regular scalp-oiling, I would suggest you include protein in your daily diet. Atleast in one of your daily meals. I will probably have a cup of soy for dinner to make up for the lack of protein in my lunch.

In my experience, I have had my hair growth spurts on months my protein intake was steady. More than topical protein treatments, which might absolutely suit some but could turn out to be a brittle-hair disaster for other people, consuming protein is less risky, more advantageous.

It shows up on your skin, nails and overall physic as well.

I'm sharing the screenshots of references I've collected from different people across reddit, and our long hair community forum - their hair-experiences after tweaking their protein intake. I grew up being a member of these forums, which helped me immensely grow out my hair.

If this post inspires you to become protein-conscious, start today and come back to tell me how it helped. I'll be so happy to hear from you. Results should be visible in as little as 4-6 weeks if you're consistent.

Though there are other essential micronutrients for the best hair growth rate one could achieve, I would say just start with protein, especially if you feel like your plate lacks protein.

P.S: That's some flavor loaded lemon fusilli pasta and sauteed vegetables I made for lunch in my 15 minute work break.

I searched for and bought this ceramic plate after I saw my current favorite restaurant serving my dinners on these. Not just hair, I can be tableware-obsessed sometimes.

5 habits to start today to achieve your maximum length/density potential.

1. Last rinse with drinking water every time you wash your hair: prevents mineral deposits and breakage to a 'huge' extent. Your hair is possibly brittle and lifeless due to this, no matter what luxury product you use. Note: This is for people who have hard water at their residence.

2. Increase your protein intake: keep a journal either offline or online and note down your protein intake everyday. Make it a habit to consume a cup of eggs, paneer or soy everyday. (I tried legumes but they have negligible amounts) You can also include lean meats and fish. Consistency is important.

3. Don't pile up your hair on your scalp and tie it with a towel post wash. The conditioner residues can inflame your scalp and make you wonder what caused that dandruff or flakiness. Instead, let your hair down, wrap with a soft towel and rest it on your shoulder. *The wet lengths shouldn't touch your scalp. This habit can cause clogged pores* (I'll make a video on this soon)

4. Avoid ponytails. Don't tell me you know someone with thick, knee length hair who wears a ponytail everyday. Genetic strand thickness and tensile strength matters. Take me for an example, my hair is super fine and I had to cultivate a proper routine to achieve this density. Ponytails are a no-no for me for they cause me instant breakage. (And headache) They look great, but once in a year maybe?

5. Move away from toxic relationships and time killing habits: It is easy to not wash, detangle or maintain your hair on a specific day. 'Later' never comes. Limit scrolling, limit unproductive habits that keep you away from self care. Prioritize yourself, eat well and know 1st step towards healthy hair starts from your mindset.

Hair is an emotion and haircare is a journey that alters your lifestyle for the better! 🤍 Enjoy the process and track your results without fail. 📷

P.S. On the picture is my day 2 hair, I'm loving how feathery it feels.

Tell me in the comment section what hair-habit helped you tremendously.

It is time for some mid-year restocking of labels and packaging material.

Some of you wanted me to introduce a dropper bottle but please know how it might not be suitable for the formula considering its nature - lack of preservatives. (Possibility of contamination is high) We are trying to keep the potion as fresh as possible for a longer period, when it rests in your shelf.

Nevertheless, there will be new bigger bottles (for international customers who order in bulk) to reduce the overall shipping cost.

I am hoping for us to experience a pleasant second half of the year! My heartiest wishes to our clientele, influencers and fellow business owners.❤

my day 5 hair on a ultra humid day.

Worried about retention since I tend to over-wash my hair in this weather. It is close to 37 degrees in chennai today. So tempted to take a dip.

What am I doing to protect my ends?: I do not shampoo my ends during every wash, shampooing scalp only, going easy with the lengths (when it comes to oiling) so I don't have to use extra shampoo to remove the oil. Clarifying once or maximum twice a month, trying to do it just once.

I'm also keeping the ends sealed with a couple of drops of oil everyday. They're much better than they were six months ago and I am due for a trim as well. :) Can't wait to meet my thicker, silky ends after the fresh trim.

Water only washing method keeps my head good and also my hair feels hydrated. And it dries faster, that's a perk.😊 Is that the the only perk about summers and your hair?

How is your summer journey so far?

My ends have fairytale-d drastically in the last several years of my no-trimming hair journey. I joined the 'no trim club' out of a curiousity to find out my terminal length (if there's one)

With my consistent hair care/oiling routine, I managed to gain fuller volume upto my tailbone - the thickest they've ever been in my life.

However, I sense minor damage on my ends due to the hard water here, harder than where I lived previously. Years of no trimming/a 'V' layer cut can absolutely do that as well.

I'm considering a BIG chop.

Mustering the courage to let go of 10 or more inches is quite a challenge, especially when you've spent years growing and forming an attachment to your hair.

But this time, I have to, for I crave a thicker hemline and some weight off my head to keep my migraines in check. Time to cherish my lighter head.

Also, the possibility of taking up another hair growth challenge once I cut back to 'classic length' makes me thrilled.

What do you think? Will I gain the courage this time? 😊

Write to me your hair goals or anything about your current hair journey below.

I'm going to pin a comment or two and send a bottle of our infusion from this week's batch as my small gift - a token of love for being present with me here. 🤍
