The drug-free campaign by the Brahma Kumaris (BK) in association with the Government of India is part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and Mission SPANDAN. It features a nationwide 10 Crore Addiction-Free Pledge Mega Campaign running from August 6 to August 20, 2026, following the launch of the 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat movement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The Brahma Kumaris signed formal Memoranda of Understanding with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Narcotics Control Bureau (Ministry of Home Affairs) to integrate spiritual counseling with national de-addiction goals.
I was honoured to be a part of the flag raising ceremony and the awareness campaign rally on 12 th July at Vadodara, Gujarat.

The international yoga day is approaching and the theme this year is
"YOGA FOR HEALTHY AGEING "- which emphasize yoga's role in preventive health care , keeping the body fit , maintaining physical mental and spiritual well-being well into old age .
First of all ,yoga should not be just given importance on this day...it should be done as part of daily routine.
As this year is about ageing ...Let's see what healthy ageing means ..
See for yourself whether you are able to -
* Get up from a chair without support * Climb stairs comfortably
*Walk atleast 30 minutes without exhaustion
*Carry your own groceries/ vegetables- do shopping
*Not scared of being losing independence
*Social well-being- taking part in community activities/ financial security etc
In my practice I have seen 60 year olds walking and climbing much better than 30 year olds...
The FOCUS should be on

*Strength Mobility,Balance , Nutrition,Sleep

Healthy ageing is not about living longer - it's about staying Independent longer because Age is just a number - What really matters is being to FUNCTION well.
