DENTAL/ JAW CYSTS
A cyst is a fluid-filled sac that can form anywhere in your jawbone. The reason for jaw cysts are multitude. It can be due to infection, chronic inflammation, poor oral hygiene, trauma or even genetic.
Dental and Jaw cysts are often painless but can cause swelling, discomfort, or damage to surrounding teeth or bone structures. Many a time, their growth is so insidious that it would have caused a significant damage to the bones and surrounding tissues before they have been diagnosed.
Treatment typically involves a minor surgical procedure requiring removal of the cyst and addressing the underlying issue, such as infection, damaged tooth or impacted tooth.
Some cysts are aggressive and require a more radical approach.
After the cyst is removed, the bones and the tissue begin to heal. The images here are of dentigerous cyst and its healing after 6 months which shows good bone formation in the cyst cavity after 6 months.
