From **5–8 September**, BDG Lifesciences will run its live 4-day Whole Genome Sequencing Analysis Certificate Workshop.

You will work through the complete pipeline:

FASTQ → QC → Alignment/Assembly → Variant Calling → SNP/INDEL Analysis → Annotation → Effect Prediction → IGV → Biological Interpretation.

Day 6 was a marathon 🏃‍♀️🧬

Our participant built phylogenetic trees in MEGA, computed evolutionary time distances, and pinpointed the most homologous sequences in a distance matrix.

Then straight into genome browsing on NCBI and UCSC, exploring COVID-19 data across 119 vertebrate strains 🦠 (yes, this is literally why booster vaccines exist).

Capped it off by submitting a live query to PHYRE2, a tool that predicts protein structure AND flags exactly which mutations matter most.

That's SIX tools, one session. One day left in this round.
